My sister-in-law, Sarah, widow of my departed brother, was operated on for a large ovarian tumor on Friday. It has spread and the Doctors spent 5 hours removing as much of it from the abdominal cavity as possible. It is classified stage 4 - terminal.

Please pray for me, my sister, Virginia, and Sarah's three children: twins, Rob and Scott and daughter Renee.
I don't know how much longer she has. Probably just months, but my concern is that she doesn't know the Lord, and the son who could share Jesus with her is in Hawaii and because of his job, not really able to fly home to Syracuse at this time.
Please pray for him, for the Scripture verses that I've given to him to share with his Mom - that she will be open to them, and accept Jesus as Lord.
Please also pray for her state of mind and the pain that she is experiencing.
Thanks so much.

Thanks so much.
Her condition was not diagnosed for the 2 years she's been seeking resolution to her abdominal discomfort.
Please, dear Lord, come to her and give her your peace. Let her know where it is coming from and call her to you. Amen.

In Fulton, NY, near Syracuse. One of her twin sons lives about an hour away in Rochester, her other twin, Scott, lives in Hawaii and her daughter, Renee is currently going through a divorce, and I don't know where she is living right now.
Sarah has been Methodist most of her life but I don't know what her connection to the Church has been for the last 10 years since my brother died. I'm praying that a minister from the Church visits her.
Thanks for asking.

I'm sorry to hear about Sarah's condition. She's definitely in my prayers.
You're worried about her knowing the Lord -- but I'm guessing she's a lot closer to it than you suspect. It won't take much to set her on the path, if she's not on it already.
I always suggest the following verse for people in tough situations:
And after you have suffered a little while, the God of all grace, who has called you to his eternal glory in Christ, will himself restore, confirm, strengthen, and establish you. To him be the dominion forever and ever. Amen. (1 Peter 5:10-11)
Another thought: if she's resisted Him for a long time, Sarah may actually be afraid to turn to God, and she may well feel like there's no use in trying at this late date. You might try (in a very diplomatic way, of course) to introduce her to Matthew 20:1-16), or the Parable of the Prodigal Son, both of which are lessons in God's mercy.

Great ideas. I've sent your post on to my nephew in Hawaii. He talks with his Mom daily and if I've missed today's conversation, there's always tomorrow.
FReepers are the best.
I'm praying for her deathbed conversion, and for Scott to have the words to help her into the Kingdom.

You and yours will be in my thoughts and prayers. I lost a dear friend to ovarian cancer a few years ago and sincerely empathize with the plight of your SIL and her family.
The Good Lord is kind, loving and generous in His mercy.
