If I could be a Dragon Fly and wing my way through the sky I would never be shy just me and my Dragon Fly!
By moonlight we ride the wind chase the comets tail for fun by day we would hide from the sun our fragile wings would come undone
On darkest nights we would use fireflies as our guide we would dip and we would glide through the heavens open wide and scatter diamonds in the night sky my Dragon Fly and I...
And we would wing past our lovers silent in the night... to kiss their face in our flight much to their surprise and delight my Dragon Fly and me in sight...
Such a view do we share away up here in the air of breezes soft through our hair my Dragon Fly and me a pair...

Oh, Okay. You're right. It stands on its own as is.

I wouldn't want to go on too long with it...

    Old? ... Hah!

Nobody can beat my "Before There Was Dirt."

It's way too long already, but I was thinking about adding some verses about old Noah.

I should just make another poem, hunh?

Yupper still out, too. We had rain earlier - must be in the high 50s now.

In The Night She Hears You

She sleeps, or pretends too,
yet listening to the words out of the night.
She hears them, discern some, others without a clue,
shape her thoughts be they good, or right.

She lays there, hearing the words that were saved,
saved until she was in bed, so they could be said.
Words that hint at problems, now these are engraved,
and she perceives them, not understanding the inner dread.

Sounds of pain, and anger too, and silences that cut deep,
she lays there and weeps, unsure what to do, or say.
A child in confusion, left behind and so afraid to weep,
loving those who argue, wanting only good this day.

Parents never understand that children hear it all,
and hurt along with you in ways that they can not define.
Take the time to hear it all from the viewpoint of a child small,
perhaps youll learn a lesson that theres more here then just thine!

my love sent me a birthday wish
expressing how much i meant to him
and how i deserved my heart's desire

it was a perfect day to receive such a gift
 what a beautiful birthday wish
for his love means the world to me

and he is my heart's desire

My birthday wish he sent to me
meant all the world to me
he said, I am the world to him

I said, you are my sun and moon
together a world we build for us
 our own universe....

We sing our songs to one another there
for the stars to hear and swear
our loyalty to us we share
whispering in the winds out there...

Happy Birthday
 A love poem

I'm not sure you want me
to give you a poem like this
 for your birthday --
a poem which says I need
to bury myself in the center of your heart
and swim there like a mermaid.

I pretend to do ordinary things like
 birthday cards
but all the cells in my body are
 throwing a tantrum because
you're not here with me
even when I open the dishwasher
 or the blind
my body is aching because I'm not bending for you
and my skin shouts angrily to the angels
because your hands are not touching me

 I am completely crazy
 crazy for you
and because it's your birthday
I try to fold my love
in half to go in an envelope
 like an ordinary 'love from'
but I may as well fold the sky
 which for me
 is held aloft
only by your kisses.

 HallMark ;-)
