~The Dragon Flies' Lair IX~
February 14, 2004 | bentfeather, Poets of The Dragon Flies' Lair

My Dragon Fly and Me

If I could be a Dragon Fly
and wing my way through the sky
I would never be shy
just me and my Dragon Fly!

By moonlight we ride the wind
chase the comets tail for fun
by day we would hide from the sun
our fragile wings would come undone

On darkest nights we would use
fireflies as our guide
we would dip and we would glide
through the heavens open wide
and scatter diamonds in the night sky
my Dragon Fly and I...

And we would wing past our lovers
silent in the night...
to kiss their face in our flight
much to their surprise and delight
my Dragon Fly and me in sight...

Such a view do we share
away up here in the air
of breezes soft through our hair
my Dragon Fly and me a pair...

A Letter Not Written.

Here I'm sitting
With paper and pen,
Not sure where to start,
Or where it will end.

Having so much to say,
Putting thoughts into words.
Emotions getting in the way,
My heart soaring like a bird.

Thoughts scrambled here and there,
Not making sense in my head.
Eyes welling up with tears,
Do I dare write from my heart,
Or pretend nothings there?

Good morning, all! Here's today's contribution :)

I Arise from Dreams of Thee

I arise from dreams of thee
In the first sweet sleep of night,
When the winds are breathing low,
And the stars are shining bright
I arise from dreams of thee,
And a spirit in my feet
Has led me -- who knows how? --
To thy chamber-window, sweet!
The wandering airs they faint
On the dark, the silent stream, --
The champak odors fall
Like sweet thoughts in a dream,
The nightingale's complaint,
It dies upon her heart,
As I must die on thine,
O, beloved as thou art!
O, lift me from the grass!
I die, I faint, I fall!
Let thy love in kisses rain
On my lips and eyelids pale,
My cheek is cold and white, alas!
My Heart beats loud and fast
Oh! press it close to thine again,
Where it will break at last!

Percy Bysshe Shelley

I never noticed that Hobbes was left handed. I wonder how common that is in Tigers?

Just played the tunes. Funny how they all seemed to remind me of San Diego. ;-) Good music on a cold day!
