~The Dragon Flies' Lair IX~
February 14, 2004 | bentfeather, Poets of The Dragon Flies' Lair

My Dragon Fly and Me

If I could be a Dragon Fly
and wing my way through the sky
I would never be shy
just me and my Dragon Fly!

By moonlight we ride the wind
chase the comets tail for fun
by day we would hide from the sun
our fragile wings would come undone

On darkest nights we would use
fireflies as our guide
we would dip and we would glide
through the heavens open wide
and scatter diamonds in the night sky
my Dragon Fly and I...

And we would wing past our lovers
silent in the night...
to kiss their face in our flight
much to their surprise and delight
my Dragon Fly and me in sight...

Such a view do we share
away up here in the air
of breezes soft through our hair
my Dragon Fly and me a pair...

you lift me up, you keep me strong
you bring the best there is in me
to shine, you are my hero, you are
song, through eternity we'll sail along.

Wonderful work last night you two!

She bid me take life easy, as the grass grows on the weirs;
But I was young and foolish, and now am full of tears.

Very nice selection this morning Colonel. There was some lovely writing here last night but I'm just now getting to it. Good morning.

Morning Sam.

Clock Poem, well I can always count on you to bring a different perspective into The Lair. It's an interesting poem, and really isn't time all we have?

Cute graphic, too.

Thanks for the tunes, coffee and donuts. radu, is missed around here. Hope she will be swooping in one of these nights.

Oh good news on the computer running properly!

Many people are having problems, thankfully I do not have that issue to deal with.

Night Walk

As evening falls and the winds die down,
the stars come out to welcome me.
I walk in darkness, in an empty town,
the only sound, my steps, echoes through the trees.

I love these moment of quiet times,
it gently focuses my busy mind.
Thoughts come clear as the hour chimes,
the old church clock my only company I find.

Sounds are clear and crystal bright,
and I absorb the moments like candy treats.
Scattered gleams and old porch lights,
light my path on my favorite streets.

Hi Trike!!

Lovely images in this piece. I can imagine walking the street on the other side and maybe thinking the same thing.

Let's walk together, and we can talk about what we think is going on behind all those blinds!
