AMERICA - The Right Way!! (Day 1115) [Remember the Trade Center!!]
Various News Sources and FReepers | February 10, 2004 | All of Us

Posted on 02/10/2004 4:30:54 AM PST by Chairman_December_19th_Society

America will never seek a permission slip to defend the security of our country!

Good morning!!

Do not let the victims of the attacks on New York and Washington, nor the brave members of our Nation's military who have given their lives to protect our freedom, die in vain!!

President Bush visited Missouri, on the heels of Criminal Party wannabees, and lashed out at the efforts of those who would deny making many of his tax cuts permanent. The marriage penalty reduction, for example, is set to expire next year and would result in a tax increase to many folks. The President is correctly characterizing the effort, predominately being carried on by Criminal Party members in Washington, as a potential tax increase on America.

United States intelligence has ascertained there are several training facilities in Pakistan for terrorists. After training, the terrorists are routed through Europe and on to the United States where they are joining sleeper cells, merely waiting for orders and money to carry out attacks on America.

For many of the soldiers serving in Iraq, the search for WMDs is secondary--they say that capturing Saddam has made going to war justified.

For AMERICA - The Right Way, I remain yours in the Cause, the Chairman.

Now all we have to do is hope that Al will endorse John Kerry down the road...

Wow. I just saw the election returns, Howard Dean got 4% of the vote in Virginia. And they say the turnout was below 7%. I also just saw Kerry on C-Span, he can't move the top half of his face.

I just saw a Christy Lane commercial on Fox News Channel. She has a new album out called "I believe in angels." How sweet. Kind of treacly sweet if you ask me...:)

Did you know Lauren Green was a classical pianist? She will debut her new album Friday night on Fox News Channel. She is good.

LOL, I am watching Brit Hume who just showed a clip of Jon Stewart imitating John Kerry. Kerry sure is ponderous and long winded and never gets to the point.

From the Corner at NRO (personally, I vote for War):

KERRY THEMES [Tim Graham]
K-Lo, why must the candidates also use lame mainstream artists like U2 or Springsteen? I would suggest the following themes for Kerry:

1. Since I think he looks like Son of Fred Gwynne, I nominate the theme from "The Munsters."

2. Songs that express his sincere political beliefs about Vietnam being a pointless quagmire without a noble cause, like War ("Good God Y'all, what is good for? Absolutely nothing") by Edwin Starr. Or maybe the "Fixin' to Die Rag" by Country Joe and the Fish.

3. In honor of his devotion to the Widow Heinz, why not "Anticipation" by Carly Simon?

4. At least for tonight, he could have played "Kerry Me Back to Ol' Virginny."

More from the Corner at NRO (and sooo true):
TERRY'S TOY SOLDIERS [Tim Graham]
Today was the first day in a long time that I wished I was still hanging out in the White House briefing room as they harangued Scott McClellan on the bogus "AWOL" thing. Do these people know just how much they look like Terry MacAuliffe's toy soldiers? When the subject was Clinton and the draft, they all fell all over themselves about negative Republican campaigning. Once the roles change, they are the front-line troops of the negative Democratic campaign.

If I could have joined the questioning, I would have wanted to ask, "Scott, do you feel that Mike McCurry and Joe Lockhart watch these things and laugh their heads off? McCurry could come out and tell reporters that he's made it his policy to learn nothing about what the President has done, so he doesn't have to lie to anyone, and everybody here bought that."

May I ask you to send good thoughts and vibes to Utah? I am making a decision about the job by Thursday afternoon. Thanks. And good night...

I always enjoy the excerpts from the Corner at NRO that you post. Thanks!

Did you see the story about today's press conference? That we now have a FReeper in the White House press corps who got in some real good shots today? A link to the thread is in #162 if you missed it earlier.

Wish I could help you with your decision. One thing I have discovered when I have a tough call to make is that after I have made the decision, I usually feel either real good about it and at peace or feel bad about it and still worry ..... I guess it's intuition or 'gut' instinct or that still, small voice confirming or questioning the decision.

If you have until Thursday to let them know, set your own deadline for sometime Wednesday and make up your mind. After you've slept on it, see if it still feels right. I know we're not supposed to be all touchy-feely like the liberals but this is something else entirely .... this isn't emotion, this is relying on something deep inside us.

Each of your choices has pros and cons so neither will be a total disaster. I used to talk to my kids in terms of some decisions being irrevocable .... having life-long and serious implications. Those are the ones where you must make the right decision .... drugs and such. Other decisions, even major ones such as this, can be changed later.

Prayers and *hugs*

Thanks for your advice. I truly appreciate it. So far, the pros are for staying with the job. That is my gut instinct too. I'm going to talk to my sister tomorrow evening, and a friend who works in a different dept than I do at the same company. And I will pray about the decision too. Major decisions like this, well, I need all the help I can get. :)

I did see the press conference thread. Wow, it is about time someone said that, I was really impressed with him.

Is there any chance that if you stay where you are you might get opportunities to get transferred to a different department and into a permanent job? If so, be sure to put that possibility in the 'pro' column for staying.

If word gets around, as I'm assuming it will (most company grapevines are not only quick but accurate), that you were just too indispensable to let go, that will be a huge recommendation throughout the company.

That's what I'm hoping happens. Right now, they aren't hiring at all, I counted three jobs on the internal job board, and one was in Utah. I did have several people tell me after the news got out last week that they were very upset that I was leaving, and if they had their way with the budget, I would stay. I was very touched by their comments. The downside is that this group has never hired a permanent QA position, ever. But then if I stay, I would have another year's experience of working in the medical industry, which would make my resume even brighter...I should go to bed. I've been pondering everything over OJ and Sprite (Utah's favorite 'spiked' drink) and surfing FR.

May I just say again, that I really hate the media??? Their ignorance is totally astounding. They bash President Bush about his National Guard service, but don't even know the terms and conditions of National Guard service. And they don't even bother to educate themselves, all they can see is a frenzy over a president that they hate and want to see out of office and cause more controversy.
