No skipping church on account of the guest preacher, though! Just do what I do in that situation: think about something else during the sermon--you'd be surprised how interesting the lyrics in the songbooks can be sometimes :)

We have been seriously spoiled by Really Good Preaching - which is why we drive an hour to church. I used to have the habit of not paiyng attention in sermons, but I've lost it since we started this church. I know it's bad but... well... sitting there for forty-five minutes of preaching and thinking, "I could be doing this, I could be doing that" is a really bad attitude for church.

The thirty minutes of singing, prayers, etc doesn't quite make up. Why couldn't we have the really terrific guy instead of the really adequate one?
