The Hobbit Hole VI - And Whither Then? I Cannot Say...
Posted on 01/31/2004 9:52:08 AM PST by ecurbh
Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
And Whither Then? I Cannot Say...
The Road goes ever on and on
Down from the door where it began.
Now far ahead the Road has gone,
And I must follow, if I can,
Pursuing it with eager feet,
Until it joins some larger way
Where many paths and errands meet.
And whither then? I cannot say.

LOL Maybe you could help me sew it, since I don't really have a clue? I'm thinking a seam just under where the top cushion tucks in, just to give it some interest...not just a square box of fabric pulled over it. I'd like pleats on the corners from that seam down. You visualize that?
I just bet I can do it...

Nobody deserves a slam (cept telemarketers.) Courtesy is required at all times... even when we don't feel like it.
Holding mirror in front of face when I say that.

Well....I dunno. He just said "all locks are different, yada yada yada, some pop out and that is a different story" So I dunno! I say DRILL IT! Let's see what happens!

I bet you can do it too. My sewing machine is still not working. I never did take it to the shop last fall... I spent money on other things instead. I miss it. Got a stack of stuff I'm in the middle of and it bugs me. I wanna sew....

I just bet I can do it... Okay, I'm startin' a pool fer exactly the day 2J opens up her custom slipcover shop on eBay.
Who's in?

Only thing I can think of for the game is that he may need write access to something in the game directory. If you do in as admin, go to the directory (in Program Files, I assume), right click on the directory and go to the Security tab, you can give the "Users" group read and modify access. That should be all it needs.
Not sure about the second question.

Wish you'd come up here and help me re-derange my den. I'm getting tapped out on ideas. Maybe I'm tired from the other rooms.

Last night I got a call at 9pm (which made me grumpy...I always think the worst with late night calls and 9pm is late to me.) Wanted to speak to Steve. I asked "Who is calling?" They said "This is Discover Card calling for Steve, is he available?" I said "Not for Discover Card he isn't." And hung up.

Well...telemarketers are different, I think. They ain't trying to help you! If someone is rude and insistent with me, I can be rude and insistent right back.

I like my slipcovers.... with my old couch... and dogs, it is nice to cover it and have it look nice, and be able to wash the thing in the washer.
There are patterns and design ideas on the web... but also look at second hand stores.... Sonya gave me the ones I currently use, but I found others too and bought them for a few bucks at Goodwill or Value Village.

Like this one...the "tailored" one...
http://store4.yimg.com/I/hff_1778_8249 Except the rounded aspect of my ottoman top perplexes me...will the boxy shape of the one in the picture be ok over the rounded top of mine?

You know what that means don't cha?
To: 2Jedismom
It won't look that boxy unless you use a really stiff fabric.... and if you use a kindof stretchy fabric or fleece it will form fit pretty well.
To: HairOfTheDog
I just bought some slip covers for my couch, chair and recliner and to my surprise the recliner fit perfectly but the couch and chair looked awful. I mailed them back :-(
To: Wneighbor
well if you lived closer I would...I love to re-derange!
To: PurpleQ
My couch one works pretty well, the one I use on Gidget's recliner really is for a loveseat, so it only sortof works.... but it collects her hair anyhow.
I always wanted to make a couch slipcover out of denim.... and sew old jeans pockets to it for the remotes.
