Yep. This hobbit doesn't do cold.
Probably take the trash out, though...

So, to the wife I says, "do not take the van to the back of the driveway (by the garage) it's too snowy/muddy out there. You'll get stuck..."
...sigh...

At least it's sunny here. Think I'll get my maters, peppers, and herbs started.

The new visitor is more to everyone's liking?

I'm finding the Victorian era more and more fascinating...the painting then, for instance, has to be a high water mark in Western Art, on a lot of levels, it was just great. Here's a comment on Victorian-era writers:

Doesn't matter that much. We probably covered it ;-)...
I was reading a book last night, written in the 80s, and it mentioned in passing the "Lord of the Rings movies". Only it had them done by Lucas.
Now that is a wonderful thing to read just before going to bed. Imagine hobbits with lightsabers... oh, the horror...

I slept in a bit this a.m. and the birds didn't even grip...must have been warm in the coop. Got up and took 'em their warm water, the seemed content.

Good morning!
I've been laughing out loud over the nails conversation. I love the picture you posted, Hair...of the woman looking perplexed at her nails! I would really feel that way if I came home with nails! I do too much physical work with my hands and nails are not an option...maybe if I wore gloves, but I only wear them ocassionally...I don't like the way they feel on my hands.
The thing that got this all started was the fact that I tear my nails off. I know that sounds terrible but with my upbringing, it's a miracle that's the worst I do and I don't beat myself up about it! But STEVE HATES IT! Makes his poor nerves stand on end.
Well, when I started buffing my nails is when I found I quit tearing the nails off! They are so smooth that there is nothing to "grab" on to, and it startles me out of my habit before I even get started doing it. Does that make sense?
And besides, I would just like some tidy-looking hands and feet. And if Purpleq could get something like this for a gift, it seems I ought to, too! Especially if it's very reasonable...remember, I just got my coffee made for me every morning for Mother's Day last year and it's one of the nicest gifts I ever got!
