The Hobbit Hole VI - And Whither Then? I Cannot Say...
Posted on 01/31/2004 9:52:08 AM PST by ecurbh
Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
And Whither Then? I Cannot Say...
The Road goes ever on and on
Down from the door where it began.
Now far ahead the Road has gone,
And I must follow, if I can,
Pursuing it with eager feet,
Until it joins some larger way
Where many paths and errands meet.
And whither then? I cannot say.

We can't have the Wedding without The Shoes! I could prolly afford to send the shoes. But someone would have to promise to wear them to the ceremony.

Wow, I'm gone for two and a half hours and nobody got the precious?
Class was good. Somebody illustrated a point using "Ender's Game", which means I'm not the only geek in the room.

Good evening!
I've only got a few moments before Jess starts working, so I'll just give you a brief update.
I put in my claim for unemployment, and with luck, I'll be granted compensation through that. I'm working part-time with my friend Tim doing home renovations...basically labor/construction work. The pays not much, but it's something. Meanwhile, Jess is picking up a lot of extra shifts, bless her heart. She didn't deserve for this to happen, and I'm constantly ashamed of myself for putting us into this bind.
Resumes were being sent out as early as last night, and I heard back from a former associate of mine who owns a Graphic Design firm, who told me that we'd talk next week, and that "we may be able to help each other out." So, we'll see where that goes.
So, with Jess working OT, with me doing some construction work, and if Unemployment goes through, we just may come out of this ok until I can find something full-time. The only thing that'll sink us is if Unemployment doesn't go through...then, well...we're royally screwed and I'll have to sell at least one of my kidneys on the black market.
Jess and I slept only about 2 hours last night. We just got this place, you know? It would be the worst thing to have to move again, especially back to the condo, and double especially since all of this is my fault. She and I have been through a lot in the years we've been together, and with God's help, and your prayers, we'll make it through. One way or another, we'll make it through.

Moreso than ever, that particular Psalm is in my head.
I talked to my Pastor last night, and he's going to have the congregation sing "It is well with my soul." on Sunday, as per my request.
I need to hear that song.

I'll pray for you... hope the unemployment comes through. Maybe there's a reason for this... I'll pray you find something new, soon.

Ooh...I like it! Not too fussy. And a flattering waistline...or at least that shape looks good on me...
Looks hobbity with some elvish touches - those sleeves, for example.
To: ItsOurTimeNow
Well, we're praying for you! Hope things come through.
To: JenB
Maybe there's a reason for this... More than you realize. A major lesson was learned, I can say that much.
