The Hobbit Hole VI - And Whither Then? I Cannot Say...

Posted on 01/31/2004 9:52:08 AM PST by ecurbh

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

And Whither Then? I Cannot Say...

The Road goes ever on and on
Down from the door where it began.
Now far ahead the Road has gone,
And I must follow, if I can,
Pursuing it with eager feet,
Until it joins some larger way
Where many paths and errands meet.
And whither then? I cannot say.

*sigh*

Maybe it's because I'm attuned to it and maybe it's just because it's been sorta spring like outside and people are out...but I seem to be seeing puppies everywhere. And Goldens...Goldens wherever I look. And at the dump yesterday, there was a couple who came right when I did with the CUTEST little yellow lab puppy...just adorable.

Then there was the little teddy bear of a Golden puppy that was at the vet when I took the cat in. Or just past the teddy bear stage...he was starting to get a little leggy. Such a sweet boy!

Yep.... It is sortof like my friend Kay who said she was content not to have children, and then she began bursting into tears whenever she saw a baby. ;~D

How could anything with a face like this be wicked?

Thank you g'nad. I feel a lot better about that. I know he doesn't stand a lot better odds at the humane society, but the alternative was ugly.

All this fencing we have been doing recently has been about getting the place ready for eventual pups. Gidget respects the electric wire fence, but it isn't the most secure fence for stoooopid pups.

We have been putting up wire mesh horse fence around the compound area. Can't take pictures because Sonya still has the camera.

no worries... I love dogs... they're tastey...

Junior thought I had no problems puttin' Vern down... I told him I really didn't want to, but I'd do it... guess he thought I was cold-blooded... heh... wonder where he got that idea...

Then he is heartless for putting his dog in the hands of someone he believes is heartless. I hope he doesn't get another dog.

g'nad, I just think the whole idea is horrid. I can't imagine saying anything 'cept what I already did. Whether I was talking to him, or to you. There are a lot of people I would do a lot for, but I would never take part in that. I have intervened and stopped lesser wrongs.
