The Hobbit Hole VI - And Whither Then? I Cannot Say...

Posted on 01/31/2004 9:52:08 AM PST by ecurbh

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

And Whither Then? I Cannot Say...

The Road goes ever on and on
Down from the door where it began.
Now far ahead the Road has gone,
And I must follow, if I can,
Pursuing it with eager feet,
Until it joins some larger way
Where many paths and errands meet.
And whither then? I cannot say.

Uh... is that the game with the big orange ball and the really tall guys?

Yah... there's one on the TV, but's its Clemson v. UVA. I don't know why. Oh... wait... over on another TV there's UCLA v. UW. Looks like it must've just started?

You know, he did appear a bit depressed the last time I was at mom's. He did nothing but sleep all day on the green rug in front of the kitchen sink-- oh wait, that is what cats *usually* do, nevermind.

Yup, just underway.

Gotta go eat my dinner (chicken marsala and cauliflower). Be back in a bit.

Well, have fun on your own! Where are you?

At this point I'm up to the part where...umm...should I do spoiler text? Probably not necessary, I guess. Pacifica doesn't know who she is and Leo is being inept but entertaining as usual. And I'm trying to remember if I've seen the guy she's staying with before or not. This is long enough and I've been watching them so rarely that I'm hoping I'm not forgetting things I'm supposed to know to make sense of the story.

My brother's cat, Bear, had something going on with his eye that prevented him from opening it. I thought it might be a scratch or an infection. I went over to mom's and took the cat to the vet. Turns out the cat had Herpes, and I had to break it to mom that the cat had a prescription for birth control pills! LOL

That's an odd one...really odd!

No, you aren't supposed to have seen the guy - Fulle, right? - before. But he looks a bit like Shannon, so it's confusing.

Not that having a master swordsman named Shannon isn't confusing in the first place...

I've known Shannons before, so it doesn't bother me as much.

I AM however struggling a bit because it's only in this episode that they finally say (or I'm finally understanding) that Raquel is the oldest, by quite a bit it sounds like. She doesn't act like it.

On the other hand, it makes me feel a little better about older men hitting on her. ;-) Seems to happen on occasion, though my brothers insisted I was misinterpreting things.

It does happen sometimes but you're right, she handles it brilliant - like with Bergens - saying he looked "just like her father" was perfect!

Your brothers were wrong. But what do they know...

Guess it's too subtle for them. ;-)

I think they DO understand that Leo kinda likes Pacifica.

But that's not exactly subtle.

Leo's a lot of things. Subtle's not one of them.

Gotten over your initial distaste for Soupy-kun?

I still don't GET Soupy-kun. But I guess the costume came in handy. Sorta.

What's it gonna take to jog her memory? Yeesh!

Hmm, I'd say a knock over the head but... I'm not sure there's enough up there to do much good.

Wow, I've had an amazingly productive writing day. Almost 4000 words!

You do! :) Just finished critiquing your last two chapters. Mine are attached. Sorry it took me so long to reply--still getting over the flu, my energy is really low tonight and I took a nap after supper. BTW, I finished the first part of Doomsday Book today, about to start the second part.

Hey, someone else is still up and about! I was beginning to think the thread had keeled over and died.

Just finishing some Tension Tamer before heading to bed here. And reading useless threads.

Huh--didn't know cats could get that! Reminds me, my cat's eyes always seemed like they were running. He had a really short nose and I guess some breeds like that have that problem--I've seen other cat breeds with pug noses have the same thing.
