The Hobbit Hole VI - And Whither Then? I Cannot Say...
Posted on 01/31/2004 9:52:08 AM PST by ecurbh
Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
And Whither Then? I Cannot Say...
The Road goes ever on and on
Down from the door where it began.
Now far ahead the Road has gone,
And I must follow, if I can,
Pursuing it with eager feet,
Until it joins some larger way
Where many paths and errands meet.
And whither then? I cannot say.

Heh... my Dad named our first batch of cats Doof, Goof and Poof - he hates cats. Of course only Doof remains. The next few cats got named after Star Trek characters.
The dog is Harry, because we let my brother name him, and my brother was 7 at the time.

And from what I've heard, most of them are never completely tame...you still have to watch out so you don't get bitten.Seems like I just heard recently of a pet ferret attacking a kid or something--did I see that on FR or was that somewhere else?
To: Fedora
hehehe... you know of course... there's pills for what you got. It doesn't require surgery anymore. Good thing, that. :-)

I am of the opinion that cats should not be named, but merely numbered.
:-)

See ya'll in a bit. I'm off for home.
Anybody noticed that I don't have any psycho students this go around? Best news I've had all school year!

On the other hand, Day 1 of week 5 doesn't look so bad. It's the rest of the week that's scary. The first day of the week is always the hardest one for me, for some reason. I think it helps me break through the mental block once I get the first day out of the way, because then I know I'm partway done.
To: Fedora
I didn't see it, but could be. Maybe search on "ferret"?
Out of curiosity, how long did you lurk on FR before jumping in? For me it was at least a year...and then I was afraid to post for awhile after that.

Heh... our cats are weird... we have an orange cat who's so fat, she looks like she's wearing a fat-suit.For some reason that gave me an image of Al Sharpton :)

So... we'll repeat Day 1, if we have to, but let's try week 5 at least. OK! I suppose I can probably do it if I just go slow. Frustrating sometimes to be slow, but I know that's only temporary. It's still hard work!

Mmm... I am not actually an animal person, but if I had a cat, I'd name it. I'd probably name it "Bob" or something equally boring, though.
I might name it "Bob the Dark Lord, Ruler of All Evil, Master of the Cosmos", though.

We'll get there! By August, at worst....
There, I've written a full thousand words today, so I can go to bed soon without feeling guilty.

What's wrong with "Ocho"??? hehehe
I always liked that one. I'm looking forward to named the next one "Neuf".

Out of curiosity, how long did you lurk on FR before jumping in? For me it was at least a year...and then I was afraid to post for awhile after that.I've been lurking since the 2000 election campaign. I've avoided posting 'til now 'cause I was afraid if I did I'd get addicted--think that's already happened :) I finally broke down and gave in 'cause I found some info on Kerry I felt obligated to post. Since then I've found hanging around the Hobbit Hole is more fun, though :)
To: JenB
You can say that again...
To: JenB
Mid to late August is when I'm hoping to arrive at where I wanna be. I don't THINK that's unrealistic.
Yum...dinner turned out good. Or lunch and maybe dinner for tomorrow, really, but I had to test it...lentils and rice with onions, peppers, tomato, and garlic, and some green salsa splashed on. Tasty.

I've avoided posting 'til now 'cause I was afraid if I did I'd get addictedHoo boy...yeah, that's a problem with this place. And the Hobbit Hole is far more addicting than even FR as a whole.
I mostly lurk when it comes to the "outside world" of FR...but I guess I post enough here to make up for it. Oops...
