The Hobbit Hole VI - And Whither Then? I Cannot Say...
Posted on 01/31/2004 9:52:08 AM PST by ecurbh
Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
And Whither Then? I Cannot Say...
The Road goes ever on and on
Down from the door where it began.
Now far ahead the Road has gone,
And I must follow, if I can,
Pursuing it with eager feet,
Until it joins some larger way
Where many paths and errands meet.
And whither then? I cannot say.

Good Morning! It is a beautiful day here. No clouds in the sky, a light breeze and 62 degrees. I am in a great mood :-) Only 4 days til the Lone Star Moot!

Oh, I've done the math, believe me. Over and over and over. And cut expenses as much as I can, though I admit to a small "treat" once in awhile - certainly nothing big.
Until I get ahead of the bills, I'll never catch up. I can live on what I'm making once that's done. It'll still be very tight, but possible.

Winter came back here. Currently 28. Granted, that would have seemed VERY warm a month ago, so I can't complain.
Snowing, but only lightly. Kinda pretty.

Eww...I am sorry. I love the sunny and warm weather. I like to see the snow (it is beautiful) once in a great while but not every day.

Are you in Houston?
To: RosieCotton
We washed our cars Saturday in the bright sun and then went to an outdoor birthday party that afternoon. Some of the people there actually got a slight sun burn. Can't believe the warm weather is already here! Sunburn!

A lady here at work went to see Martina McBride Saturday at the Reliant. She said it was SO AWESOME. She said there isn't a bad seat in the whole arena. She said the stage rolls out to the middle and turns during the entire concert!

It's gorgeous here too! I've been outside a couple of times already - barefoot! Yes! I love it! I really really hope that it is warm for LSMoot!

I borrowed a book on tape from the library to use for while I'm running - Harry Potter, The Sorcerer's Stone. ;-) I haven't read those, so this should be fun. Hope I can turn the tape player up loud enough to hear over the treadmill!

That is how are cars were too. With all the rain we have had the past two months. They needed alot of detailing.

Good morning. I'm looking forward to the show myself. If you go to the Reliant website, there is a feature there like a virtual seating view. Enter where your ticket numbers are and you can see where the seats are at. Course, we'll be nowhere near close enough to get to know Marty Stuart like W knows him. but oh well.
To: Wneighbor
Me too! But there is a chance for rain again on Thursday (here in Waco anyway). Jeric played outside bare foot, too, all day Saturday. The drive way was nice and toasty under his little feet.

Good Morning!Penny, skiing again! - What a life! hope it is clear for you! How many more weeks are they gonna still have snow up there? - Where do you ski, anyhow? I mostly skied at Crystal.
Rosie, sorry you have taxes on top of other money trouble! - I got a good refund but ecurbh will owe. Is it your band income? or are you claiming more than one exemption on your W-2?
To: Wneighbor
Such a loooovely day here too. I hope it holds for the weekend.
To: HairOfTheDog
I'm assuming it's the more than one exemption thing? Dunno what else it could be. I barely made anything with the band...most of the gigs we did were for free...so I didn't think I even needed to include those. I would think unless you made over a hundred or something over the course of the year, no one is going to care.
But I could swear I just checked one exemption.
Then, I also got one unemployment check this year, plus what little was in my retirement fund at the company I was working for. So those may have done it, I don't know!
It's mostly just the timing that makes it so tough. Otherwise I wouldn't mind so much. Ah well. Such is life.

LOL! Getting to know Marty like W knows Marty isn't really for me anyway. We will let here keep that title and trophy!

I'm getting very excited! The only thing is I will be at the mercy of my parents, unless someone whisks me away or something!

It could have been the retirement fund check, if that was tax-deferred it would have been untaxed unless they withheld it when they cashed you out. It would say that on the W-9. Any untaxed income of significance will get ya at return time, so I wondered if you had reported band gigs. I have done enough work on the side... a couple thousand dollars... to end up owing in the past. But I also made the mistake on my W-2 once of counting 1 exemption for me, and 1 for head of household. A single person shouldn't do that... Head of household is for folks with kids.
