Evening 2JM:enjoyed the pics of the "new and improved Chicken Condo" looks great and the eggessess are proof that the accomodations are okay with the feathered gang.
To: 2Jedismom
Well, I gotta admit I had it pretty well figured for something like this when they announced they were extending the charges on that guy, but didn't announce that anyone was recovered alive. That's just never a good sign.
To: 2Jedismom
Yikes! Scary story! I'll make sure to pray for the families involved.
To: Fedora; JenB
Lol!
Thanks.
*chuckle*
Excellent!

Good evening your Ruthyness... :-)
How's things??
To: Ramius; RMDupree; Fedora
Yeah...I've been following it for several days, and then really closely this evening.
I admit, after they charged the guy...I knew.

Evening to you as well. Was kinda enjoyable, the Oscar results, been a long time since anything I really liked has won anything. Come to think of it, Open Range, didn't get any, which is about par for me.
To: 2Jedismom
Yup. A complete waste of life perpetrated by a complete waste of a human being. *sigh*

He looks just like a Rankin-Bass hobbit!
Um, I mean that in a good way.
Oh dear... just heard they are making "Have Spacesuit Will Travel" into a movie... oh dear, we all know how Starship Troopers fared...

Thanks! :) It's based on a picture from this nice illustrated Harry Abrams edition of The Hobbit that my Mom bought me when I was little. My brother and I used to draw pictures based on it all the time and turn them in for art class homework :) I got the urge to draw again recently, so that was one I did. I'll probably try Smaug next--I like drawing Smaug.

Be sure to post it when you're done! I'd love to see it so be sure to ping me to it!

Thanks, Osage! It's a bit silly, maybe...but our chickens really are our "pets"...not just our livestock...so we treat them a little cushy...

Yes, it's based on the Rankin-Bass hobbit :)
So you didn't like the way they did Starship Troopers? I thought they did a good job on it, but then, I saw it before I read the book.
To: Fedora
Smaug, what we call my father's one cat.
She has the look.
*chuckle*
Looking forward to it.
Most of what I draw is odd, surreal, or not fit for public polite society consumption.

Wow, no, but I was raised on Heinlein. If they're going to turn the Great One's books into movies, they'd better get it right.
Making ST into a movie was a mistake in the first place. It's not about action, it's about the philosophy. For that reason, Have Spacesuit is a better choice to make a movie from (though the wonderful bit in the beginning about education, which inspired me when I was ten, will probably not get translated to screen well at all). Kip and Peewee were some of the many friends I found in Heinlein, when I was a weird little girl just starting SF...

On your father's cat, strangely, I always thought Smaug (as drawn by Rankin-Bass at least) looked somewhat cat-like. Not sure why, maybe it's the face that looks somewhat whiskery.

Come to think of it, Open Range, didn't get any, which is about par for me.What was that about?--I didn't even see that advertised around here. We only have two small theaters so we don't get a lot of stuff.
