The Hobbit Hole VI - And Whither Then? I Cannot Say...
Posted on 01/31/2004 9:52:08 AM PST by ecurbh
Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
And Whither Then? I Cannot Say...
The Road goes ever on and on
Down from the door where it began.
Now far ahead the Road has gone,
And I must follow, if I can,
Pursuing it with eager feet,
Until it joins some larger way
Where many paths and errands meet.
And whither then? I cannot say.

You could scan it in and make it permanent... nothing is totally unsaveable, these days. What's it of?

"What's it of?"
Well, let me say first off taht some will say it's probably best that I created self destructing artwork.
I will then say HOW it was inspired before saying what it is.
I was standing in the kitchen on one of the recent colder days and looked over at the back door windows.
They had condensation on them, of course, and I saw a few random shapes that resembled a face and torso.
I sketched out the face and one shoulder on the 3x5 card, and then took an hour on Saturday to finish the rest of it as I remember seeing it.
It's a semi-reclining female nude with a robe hanging off her shoulders.
Most people either like the way I draw and present such subjects, or hate them immediately.
(No model used, I cannot find models to draw, they all chicken out. So it was drawn straight from my head.)

Heh, I don't blame them for chickening out. I wouldn't want to be drawn without clothes either.
When I see patterns in things, they resolve into scenes for me; knights facing trolls, ladies having tea, that sort of thing. I'm very story-oriented...

LOL!
Honestly, I leave it up to them whether or not they have clothes on when they are drawn or not.
Sometimes I see odd things/images/scenes/ideas/patterns in strange places.
And sometimes I get ideas for drawings/sketches/paintings that are completely outside of my skill.
(that is annoying..)
Oddly, those that DO want to be drawn sans fabric seem to think and expect something else.
*scratches head*
I honestly don't know WHERE that idea comes from.
I don't particularly look THAT nice, at least in my opinion.

Ok! I'll make sure they get to them right away and with proper credit given. Heather (Gene's wife) already knows about the Hobbit Hole in passing, sorta...she knew I was involved in some sort of effort when Gene was in Iraq. We talked about it. Then I saw her at The Passion the other night and she told me he was in Georgia. I told her, "Give me his address and I'll send him some cookies!"

I have the same problem with stories sometimes... I'm just not capable of writing them (yet?). It's frustrating. Sometimes I try anyway.

*UGH!*
I hate that!
Hit a wall in my serial story shorts.
*sigh*
And sometimes I see stuff that is really pretty, and with what I prefer to draw with it's impossible to convey.

Rosie, I just feel so bad for ya. Just breaks my heart that you're feeling down. I wish I could be there with ya...I'd play my pennywhistle and you'd pray to God for me to leave...
;-)
I wish I could do something to make you feel better...
Have you told your dad your troubles??

Hey, Rosie. Sorry to hear you're depressed. I used to get depressed like that; took me a while to get over it. I will add you to my prayer list--actually you're already on it, but I'll add prayers for the depression part :) If talking about it helps please feel free to talk about it, too.
BTW don't know if this will help cheer you up or not, but here goes nothing, LOL! My friend who is on the Atkins Diet and lost 45 pounds on it so far has been raving about his personal consultant who's been helping him out. His consultant just started a website with a lot of helpful advice and articles and stuff on it. My friend just sent me the link to the site, so I thought I'd pass it on to you and Jen since you're into working out. Here it is:

Hi Ramius...
I've been following the Miss. Family thread...they found them apparently, all dead...two adults, one child.
I just feel wretched.

I'm trying to do something productive, but all I want to do is surf around and check for info on upcoming books I want to buy.

Oh, they did find them? Ahh... nuts.
Did they charge that cousin-type guy they had?
To: Ramius
Yeah. Charged the cousin of three counts murder, he apparently told them where they were.
Nuts is right...I kept hoping maybe they got mixed up in something and had to get under cover...

Since y'all are talking about drawing and stuff, thought I'd post this picture of Bilbo I drew recently--don't worry, he's fully clothed! :)
