The David Limbaugh article looks like an add-on to the Paul Harvey article. I have not seen this yet on FreeRepublic so I felt it should be posted. If by any chance it has already been posted, and I missed it, the moderators are free to pull it.

There is not a scintilla of anti-Semitism to be found anywhere in this powerful film. If there were, I would be among the first to decry it.
This kind of pandering makes me sick. The New Testament has a theme of anti-semitism to it, in the sense that it REJECTS jewish legalism. To the extent that Christ is the Messiah, and jews reject that, the entire message is "anti-semitism"
At some point, ya gotta call a spade a spade.

Jews have got to understand that this movie is not about or for them.
The very idea that Christians are being told that they cannot make a movie about the most important story told their Holy Book without getting prior approval from Jews is patently offensive on its face.

I don't see how "REJECTS jewish legalism" translates into anti-semitism, which is defined as hostility, prejudice, hatred of Jews.
Entirely different meaning.

Anybody who thinks that the New Testament has an "anti-semitic" theme to it has no idea what the New Testament means. The New Testament has no theme about hating anybody.

The rejection of legalism is not antisemitism. No more than rejection of the Pope makes one anticatholic. It is a different philosophy altogether.

I can't wait to see this movie.
Seems like everyone who has actually seen the moview raves about the message, the accuracy, and how profoundly affected they were by it.

At lunch the other day, I was trying to explain to a Jewish friend and a "main stream" protestant friend that Jesus died to redeem us and reconcile us to God after the fall of Adam. They both were incredulous. They could not believe it. I was rather surprised that they had never heard of that truth. They both then became very upset and aggitated. Very weird. I'm pretty shy and private about my faith. This was a real revelation to me.

Great letter, however:
"The piece cited above is indeed a review penned by someone who attended a screening of the movie, The Passion, producer/director Mel Gibson's upcoming film about the last twelve hours in the life of Jesus. (The movie is due to open on 25 February 2004.) However, the review is not the work of long-time radio commentator Paul Harvey; it was written by Keith A Fournier, a "constitutional lawyer and a graduate of the John Paul II Institute of the Lateran University, Franciscan University and the University of Pittsburgh." "

I can't wait to see Hollywood's reaction to this movie. Think Mel and the movie are going to be blackballed at Oscar time? I just hope it is a smash at the box office-I will go and see it (I have not seen a movie in a theatre since Wayne's World-when was that 1990?)

Please read the New Testament again. Apostle Paul acknowledged that one of the mysteries of the Bible, is God's promise to Abraham in the Old Testament has not been nullified by the Covenant of the Church. In other words, God's promise to protect the Jews and punish her enemies is still in effect despite the fact that they do not believe Jesus is the Messiah. In Revelation, God will intervene to destroy all the armies that threaten to destroy Israel in the last days of the world.

Actually, this is not by Paul Harvey. I believe Harvey was quoting a young lawyer and deacon who had been invited to the screening. I have posted this account elsewhere.
