There is not a scintilla of anti-Semitism to be found anywhere in this powerful film. If there were, I would be among the first to decry it.

This kind of pandering makes me sick. The New Testament has a theme of anti-semitism to it, in the sense that it REJECTS jewish legalism. To the extent that Christ is the Messiah, and jews reject that, the entire message is "anti-semitism"

At some point, ya gotta call a spade a spade.

Jews have got to understand that this movie is not about or for them.

The very idea that Christians are being told that they cannot make a movie about the most important story told their Holy Book without getting prior approval from Jews is patently offensive on its face.

I don't see how "REJECTS jewish legalism" translates into anti-semitism, which is defined as hostility, prejudice, hatred of Jews.

Entirely different meaning.

The rejection of legalism is not antisemitism. No more than rejection of the Pope makes one anticatholic. It is a different philosophy altogether.

Please read the New Testament again. Apostle Paul acknowledged that one of the mysteries of the Bible, is God's promise to Abraham in the Old Testament has not been nullified by the Covenant of the Church. In other words, God's promise to protect the Jews and punish her enemies is still in effect despite the fact that they do not believe Jesus is the Messiah. In Revelation, God will intervene to destroy all the armies that threaten to destroy Israel in the last days of the world.

I've been reading the New Testament all my life, and I have never had the impression that it contains "Anti-Semitism". I'm certainly not Anti-Semitic, so it hasn't influenced me in a negative way. The story of Jesus is one of love, not hate. It is clear that you have a different viewpoint, but not an accurate one.

Perhaps the theme is a little more involved than you make it out to be:

Matthew 5:17-20
"Do not think that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets. I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil. For amen I say unto you, till heaven and earth pass, one jot, or one tittle shall not pass of the law, till all be fulfilled. He therefore that shall break one of these least commandments, and shall so teach men shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven. But he that shall do and teach, he shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven. For I tell you, that unless your justice abound more than that of the scribes and Pharisees, you shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven." (emphasis added)

Anti-semitism does not mean "having a different opinion than things Jewish."

It means "hating anything Jewish."
