Rules on how to be an independent thinker

Posted on 01/26/2004 9:27:56 AM PST by Sofa King

#1. DON'T QUESTION THE RULES! Anyone who questions the rules is close-minded and intolerant.

#2. Constantly tell other people how intelligent you are and how independent your thought it. If they don't believe you, see rule #3.

#3. Call anyone who disagrees with you a sheeple. Sometimes, when you are out demonstrating your independent though, some jerk will question your logic. Don't let them get away with that crap. Tell them that they're just a sheeple. And a nazi. Call them a nazi.

#4. Repeat what other depended thinkers say. They can be from the entertainment industry, the media, a punk musician, or even a professor from the liberal arts department. Just make sure it's someone who tells you that they're anti-establishment.

#5. Sound angry. Independent thinkers are always angry at something. Usually "the man".

While visiting his niece, an elderly man had a heart attack. The woman drove wildly to get him to the emergency room. After what seemed like a very long wait, the E.R. doctor appeared, wearing his scrubs and a long face.

Sadly, he said, "I'm afraid your uncle's brain is dead, but his heart is still beating strongly.

"Oh, dear," cried the niece, her hands clasped against her cheeks with shock, "we've never had a Democrat in the family before!'

Sadly there are some on this board who if you question their view will become very insulting.

Actually, I was inspired by something from another board. I just though I'd post it here.

I noticed that!

Saw you get beat up some a while ago this morning!

NOT right... we are supposed to be backing one another! Regardless of petty differences! we should respect felow-travellers and NOT eye-gouge over minutia!

So have you read all of the Sharpe books?

Depending on the context, it could be passable moose bait.

Moose and cheese. It's kind of an FR tradition.

Was there a "Flashman " series on viddy?

if you have not read those, "Flashman" is the bully in the "Tom Brown's Schooldays" thing that was done years ago, a complete and total poltroon, and cowward....

And someone wrote a series of books following his career AFTER school. "Flashy" remains the same... a poltroon who manages to weasel out of the tightest situations... ( He would make Blackadder blush! ) FUN stuff!

How can you not question the Rules?!? That's OPEN-minded! Trust me, I'm a JEE-NEE-UHSS! (Note the intentional phoenetic spelling! A sure sign of a superior mind!) You just want these blind mice as followers, but you're no different! Just ask Michael Moore! He'd say the same thing! And MLK, since his holiday was last week, I get to invoke him as well... and if you don't let me, I'll rip your friggin' ears off!! THEN maybe you'll hear me!

(How's that? Did I get all 5?) ;^)

Flashman is wonderful, but MacDonald's other writings aren't shabby either.
