In order that we might all raise the level of discourse and expand our language abilities, here is the daily post of “word for the day”. Rules: Everyone must leave a post using the “word of the day”; in a sentence. The sentence must, in some way, relate to the news of the day. The Review threads are linked for your edification. ;-) Practice makes perfect.....post on....

Rather than look at the mess of html I made back there somewhere, instead of referring you back to the post, I've taken your advice and put her name on her bag. Thank you Dimp.

I saw a sampler in W. Virginia once, that seemed to have been done by someone who didn't get very far in school. I remember looking at it for a while before realizing it was a handmade copy of the 'the hurrier I go, the behinder I get.' sentiment. But the words were misspelled and the letters misshapen.

It was encouraging and saddening at the same time.

Rather like listening to our public school teachers describe their bright hopes for our children's future.

That does sound sad, but sweet at the same time.

"...she picked up the "Divider", looking it all over for the bar code so she could scan it..."

You should have kept it. I used to joke that I wanted one for 'disciplining' the children, but I could never get it checked out!

Perps are perking right along. We are getting married in the Southern Baptist church where my daddy is chairman of the deacons.
