Five days after the Packers bowed out of the playoffs in frustrating fashion, Ed Donatell was fired as the team's defensive coordinator. Tight ends coach Jeff Jagodzinski was also let go. Story to come

"Eagles Fans"- Those being the ones with a limp in both ankles, from jumping on and off the moving bandwagon so many times they twisted them like soft pretzels.

Yes, and McNabb is Steve Young and Pinkston is Jerry Rice...how is a pre-plan B free agency assemblage of talent relevant in this conversation? no one has a young and rice anymore, and anyone who comes close has deficiencies elsewhere.
the teams that win superbowls get bargains, i.e. warner at $400k.

The vicodin dissin doesn't bother a true Packers fan. No more than aksin for a Shakespear reading from McNabb bothers an Eagles fan......

"he was about to get hit by ike reese, and threw the ball to a player who had FAKED a blitz. or do blitz pressure and coverage schemes not factor into bad throws?"LOL, Come on. "Blitz pressure and coverage schemes"?? Is Favre a rookie again who hasn't seen this before?
I don't know what Favre was doing, but I haven't seen a QB make a decision this goofy since Pop Warner.
To: discostu
So he's a "pretty good" QB when he's not doing those "two stupid things a game"?
We agree then - that's kinda what I said.
To: discostu
Thank you for that accurate description.
Isn't that the way we should all live life?

Yes, and McNabb is Kurt Warner and Pinkston is Tory Holt... (or Isaac Bruce, or Ricky Proehl, plug in your favorite here...)

Favre didn't even glance down the field. It was the single worst play of his entire career. The Eagles capitalized on it and good for them but don't gret crazy and think that play had anything to do with the Eagles, Favre blew it.

are you just biased, just stupid, or both?I have seen you hijack threads repeatedly with this kind of acrimonious reply. I don't understand it. Somehow seems wrong to me.
Some teams seem to win games that they should have lost. Some teams seem to lose games they should have won. The Eagles have done well and have managed to win. I like the coach and I wish them well because I think there are class players on the team, as well. But, in my very subjective point of view, there are better teams in the NFC spectating this year... and there are better teams remaining in the AFC. But, who knows....they still gotta play the games, don't they?
All the best,
Lando

Hey I'd love to continue this, but I'm outta here for the weekend
Are you from the 177th?
Anyway, Favre has a tendency to heave up ducks all the time especially at the worst time. Yes, he is a great QB and rightfully deserves to have serious consideration for the Hall of Fame. That doesn't change the fact that he heaves up ducks at the worst time. Didn't he throw something like 6 picks against the Falcons in the playoffs last year or the year before and kill GB's further playoff hopes? He also wasn't that great when the Broncos beat GB a few years ago in the SB.
The NY Football Giants. Sorry dude, they were worse than pathetic this year.
Anyway I'm outta here. Hope this can continue on Monday, if not, then the Big Choke happened one more time.

Well, I'm not an Eagles fan, so aksin McNabbWithCheese for a Shakespeare reading wouldn't interest me one way or the other. But, aksing Fat Andy Reid where to get a good Philly cheesesteak in various cities around the country may interest some NFL fans! ;>)

wins are a unique sort of stat, in that they're the kind that COUNTS.Yes, wins do count. Which is why the Eagles are playing again this weekend. You have an incredible grasp of the obvious. What we were assessing was the quality of the Eagle's performance in achieving last week's win.
right, at home, while I'm in section 236 at Lincoln Financial Field making sound assessments.
Hope someone drives you home, if you achieve this level of dementia at the stadium.
not like I've ever played the game or anything... (rolls eyes)
Well, gee, if I'd known you "played the game", I never would've dared challenge your informed, well-balanced, completely unbiased assessment of the Eagles performance last weekend. (Maybe you can stop the eyes rolling around in your head long enough to focus on the field.)

Packer fans are a blast, people mistake me for a Packer fan because I usually root for the team but in truth I'm a fan of Packer fans. That is definitely the way we should all live life.

... the only bright side is that our DC is outa'here now, but he should not have ever been retained from last year. KC Chiefs let DC Robinson go ... Denver Broncos fired him about 4 or 5 seasons ago ... any word on where he's going to end up?

That play has been labeled "Brett's pet mallard" around here. Nobody has any regrets.
The Packers fan will be cheering on the Eagles this weekend.
I can't wait until Brett's next monday morning quaterback Visa ad spot. Something like "I'da double bagged that", and "I'da used my cranium before throwing that duck"

You are not overstating - it was horrific. It would have only been a fairly sane throw had it been 4th and long with 10 seconds left and the team down a touchdown. To come on a first down in decent field position with a great running game going and a field goal to win it makes it a blunder of Bucknerian proportion.

No, he's a pretty good QB when his heart isn't in the game, it avoid stupid mistakes but it costs great plays. He's a GREAT QB he just is crazy and will do dumb thing, when forced to not do dumb things his heart isn't in the game that cuts down on the mistakes but also cuts down on the brilliance. There aren't many in the world that can still manage to be pretty good when their heart isn't in the game.
Fans of many sports have seen the Favre type of player, they've learned to suffer the lows because there are more highs. I liken him to recently retired brilliant goaltender Patrick Roy, Roy loved to handle the puck behind the net but he was horrible at it, no good ever came from Roy being behind the net, but when the coaches wouldn't let him go behind the net Roy always got out of his game.
The same Brett Favre that threw that awful duck in OT is the one that threw the 40 yard gainer into double coverage that led to their game leading FG. A Brett Favre that wouldn't have thrown that duck also wouldn't have thrown the other pass and probably GB doesn't even get to OT losing instead in regulation. The Favre that throws bad INTs is also the one that throws great blocks on reverses. The Favre that sometimes doesn't seem to see the other team on the field is the Favre that can scramble from the pocket and sidearm the ball 20 yards. He's a great QB who's able to over come his mistakes more often than not.

You are not overstating - it was horrificI agree with you 100%. But, it should have been over before that. The 4th and 26 play keeps replaying over and over and over and over and over and over.......in my brain.

Ya know, I used to think that you were just a really, really enthusiastic Eagles fan (with which there's nothing wrong).
Now I'm convinced that you can only get your jollies by belittling others (which indicates that you're compensating for something).
Ding. Did you hear that timer go off? You and I are done.

A real hogie with capicolla, provolone, and salami which was hanging from the ceiling, nestled in a nice Amorosso roll is my version of heaven. Unfortunately they can only be found in Philly and only at my two most favorite places.....Rich's Deli in Fort Washington and at Pete's deli in Conshohocken.
Let's not forget to chase that with a cheap cup of coffee from WAWA!
There are some things you just can't explain to be such a deep loss when you've left your home town.
