I liked Rupert at first. But when he was voted out, I found his bitterness to be very disturbing.

Ego Central seems to be losing it....
To: my_pointy_head_is_sharp
I don't think Rupert was bitter, he was hurt for being betrayed..
Richard brings back all the memories of why I hated him in the first Survivor....he's worse than the Rob's

They all have huge egos, that's why they're there. The producers wanted entertaining people - and heck, they got them. Even though most of them I could do without ever seeing again, they make for some engaging television.
And it's hard, really, to know how this is going to go. They edit these shows after Survivor is already finished, knowing who is going to win (or at the very least the final two.) They're going to be putting in enough tricks and stuff to keep us completely guessing throughout the whole game.
And you know, watching Richard so far through the episode, I really do hope that he sticks around.

I don't think he was bitter. I think he just felt that after all the work he did, he was rewarded by being stabbed in the back because he was seen as a threat.
Happens all the time in corporate America when you try to go for the prize. You just suck it up and keep pushing.
I think he recovered well and is ready to go.

I'm just waiting for him to pull some matches out of his butt....

Any predictions as to who gets voted off? Hmm. Don't know which time zones this is running at the same time in, don't want to give any spoilers... Ahh well, I'll ponder along with those here.

Richard has been brilliant and funny as hell.
I think Jerri might get the boot. I'd like to boot Sue, she annoys to no end.

All the same time zones, but only because its after super bowl. Starting next episode, I will be 2 hours behind you all in the east...bummer.
But, it was 72 degrees today...:)

Tina (I hope)
This team is split three ways, and after the vote someone's going to be an "alliance of one."
To: stands2reason
Gotta get rid of Jenna or Jerri, conniving little shrews

I didn't like the set-up of the show this time. The're shown in the jungle already in their groups. It was just too fast. I don't even know where they are. Does anybody know what part of the world they're in?
To: Central Scrutiniser
West coast here. The wife is hoping for Ethan, I'm hoping to see Jenna go first.

Ouch, couldn't take fire back to camp. Damn, I had figured that they'd let them take back the torches as in previous Survivors. Three days, no fire. That's getting to be pretty sad.

Wow, first All-Stars is over. For a rare treat, we see it at the same time on both coasts, so I'm going to take a very rare opportunity to post my first impressions at the same time everyone else is forming theirs.
Tribal breakup is very interesting. Big Tom, Lex, and Ethan had probably the most solid alliance I've seen in the game - they're all three back, and all in different tribes. On the other hand, viking kitty Jerri is stuck in the same tribe as one of her many, many nemeses, Tina. Richard and Rudy, another solid alliance, broken up. Good choices all.
Except for Amber, these were all stand-outs in their original seasons. It's fascinating which ones are standing out now, and which are fading into the background. The Robfather is as obnoxious as ever - and he's got a match for loudmouthing in Alicia. At first I thought the two Robs were setting up to kill each other, but then Alicia butted in, to set them both against her. They're setting up for an early showdown - either she or the Robfather will be the first out of that tribe, is my prediction (Warning: My predictions have proven to be less accurate than Cuz's in the past...)
Richard is pursuing an odd strategy of trying to look so lazy and annoying that every one figures he must have something up his sleeve (I don't even want to think about where else he might be keeping it...) Shii Devil was definitely taken in by him - she's so repulsed she's fascinated, and wants to keep him in the game. Richard proves himself the master manipulator.
Rupert and Rudy make a quick alliance, and here's hoping it's solid. Those two are certainly my favorite characters. Given the fate of my previous favorite characters, expect them to go quickly ;-(
In the final voting, Tina went, and I can't say it's a great loss. I've had enough of the manipulators. OK, Jenna manipulated her out - but Jenna just doesn't seem that good at it, which works better for me.
Looking forward to the next few shows.

Good episode, was happy to see Rupert and Rudy form an alliance early on, just hope they keep it quiet.
I don't remember Jenna from the first Survivor at all.
It is pretty obvious the millionaires will be the first to go. This should be fun to watch. See you all later in the week!

How about that weird skirt Hatch was wearing?? It almost looked custom made. He probably has some matches or a magnifying lens squirreled away in there. He did say he could make fire anytime he wanted. Hope they kick his naked ass out early on. He's just as repulsive as ever.
