My Dragon Fly and Me
If I could be a Dragon Fly and wing my way through the sky I would never be shy just me and my Dragon Fly!
By moonlight we ride the wind chase the comets tail for fun by day we would hide from the sun our fragile wings would come undone
On darkest nights we would use fireflies as our guide we would dip and we would glide through the heavens open wide and scatter diamonds in the night sky my Dragon Fly and I...
And we would wing past our lovers silent in the night... to kiss their face in our flight much to their surprise and delight my Dragon Fly and me in sight...
Such a view do we share away up here in the air of breezes soft through our hair my Dragon Fly and me a pair...

Cold (1 degree) outside, and the snow is enough to make walking a pain in the @ss! Got me to thinking, and the poem below is the result, (perhaps I am becoming less willing to accept winter so easy.)
Trike
The Glacier
Imagine a sheet of ice a mile thick, and slowly moving to the sea,
a crystalline entity with hidden depths, and secrets of its own to hide.
In the crevasses, one find hues from deep green, to blue as blue can be,
and reflected in many an edge, the shimmer of a diamond inside.
Cold, so cold, that even the sun seems a distant warmth upon its snows,
yet blinding white the searing light, reflected from its gleaming plain.
And only the wind fathoms it well, for it sings of the icy hell it knows,
warning, enticing, welcoming, and laughing at those who come with disdain.
As barren as a moonscape, and just as dangerous in its way,
ruthless in its manners, taking every due it demands of heart and soul.
Testing, always testing, looking for your error for which youll pay,
with everything and forever, always waiting, the Glaciers final toll.

Imagine a sheet of ice a mile thick, You almost made me quit reading right there, but I know your poetry is alwasy worth finishing. Excellent job at putting a mental picture in my head. I need some hot coffee now.

That said, the worst storm I ever saw in terms of physical danger to my person came near Wright-Patterson AFB in your neck of the woods. Ice storms in that part of the country don't go over too well.
Just a typical week here: -20 over the weekend, 20 inches of snow on Monday. Back to the deep freeze this week. I can't wait for March.

Great song feather. I think I'll post the lyrics.
AT LAST
Ohh yeah yeah
At last
the skies above are blue
My heart was wrapped up in clover
The night I looked at you
I found a dream, that I could speak to
A dream that I can call my own
I found a thrill to press my cheek to
A thrill that I have never known
Ohh yeah yeah
You smile, you smile
oh And then the spell was cast
And here we are in heaven
for you are mine....

Thanks for posting the lyrics, beautiful aren't they. I love Etta's style of singing.

The worst one here I think was in the early 80's. Can't remember exactly when. Blizzard, loss of heat, folks trapped etc. No fun. But hey, I just hate temperatures anywhere below 40 degrees.

Trust me, you aren't missing much. Once it gets below -20, it all feels the same.

LOL. That's kind of what I say around here, heck, once it's cold it's cold, doesn't matter what the temperature is.

a perfect fit
his love caresses my neck
laying gently against my chest
falling perfectly between my breasts
it is a constant reminder
of the love we share
wearing it always
as my way of keeping him near
a simple and significant gift
of a deep and abiding love
and a token of wonderful memories
my precious myrtlewood necklace
