For LOTR afficionados only others keep outAfficionados of the book or the movies? I love the book, but much of the movies makes me cringe.

I thought I was an afficionado. But, as much as I really, really enjoy LOTR, being so much into the fictional languages is plainly over the edge. ;^)

It's not often that a linguist becomes a celebrity. Tell that to the Klingon-speaking Trekkies.
I'll learn Elvish only if I'm tutored individually by Liv Tyler. (rrrrowrrrr)

I can actually recite some Olde English. It sounds really good. Maybe someday there will be a movie where the characters speak in Olde English with modern English subtitles.

For instance, Jackson wanted Salo to write Dwarfish words for a men's chorus to sing when Frodo and his friends were traveling through the Mines of Moria in "The Fellowship of the Ring." And we felt justified leaving this out because....?

Oh my lord. I like Leonard Nimoy. I like Spock. I like Bilbo. But together, oh my...what was he thinking? Even as a doped out hippie I wouldn't have found this entertaining - and this from someone who had Nimoy's album back in the 70s.
I'm not being snarky. I can admire the clip for its historical value...I think (I'm trying here, I'm really trying...)
