Rad, I have long ago given up challenging the febble minded. You cannot argue with an idiot. First they drag you down to their level, then they beat you on experience alone. In an 'real' debate, there are rules of engagement. The libs don't follow rules,,, they make the rules up as they go.

One of the reasons I came to FR was to get away from the libs at another site I frequented.

We don't always agree here at ATRW, but we respect each other,,, that makes all the difference in the world.

NEVER FORGET

...Just 2 months after the Attacks of Septmember 11, 2001...

...I was blessed to be able to go to Washington, D.C. to pay honor to Sept. 11th Heroes RICK RESCORLA and BABARA 'BKO' OLSON (Who I had encouraged several times on Talk Radio before she smashed into the Pentagon going over 500 mph).

...We honored RICK RESCORLA at our Annual Battle of IA DRANG-1965 Alumni Conference Dinner as I was blessed to sit at the table next to a newly widowed SUSAN RESCORLA ...nearly 3,000 miles from my home.
This after my working online and on Talk Radio/TV on behalf of RICK RESCORLA the previous 2 months.
What a Gift..?

...The next day at dawn found us all in front of the 3rd Panel of the Vietnam Wall honoring our IA DRANG-1965 Killed in Action before ..'NBC Dateline'.. TV Cameras.

..(JANE PAULEY's Dateline ..'RICK and SUSAN RESCORLA'.. Story aired the following March after... .."WE WERE SOLDIERS".. starring MEL GIBSON about our IA DRANG-1965 Battle was released to theaters)

...I was then blessed to go to the Pentagon to pay Honor to America's No. 1 HILLARY-Fighter BARBARA 'BKO' OLSON. I was stunned to see so many people silently standing there praying on the grassy knoll right across from the Pentagon's now severly damaged Face.

...It was my Blessed gift Weekend of Honor that I'll always hold dear.

GOD is GOOD.
BKO is with US.

Thank you, Ronnie, for all you've done to protect our country and to honor your peers.

And thanks, too, for stopping in at ATRW today. I hope you'll return often.

First they drag you down to their level, then they beat you on experience alone.

I sense the wisdom in your post.

I will tell you a personal thing. I was for many years engaged in raisng my two kids as I was a single parent. The situation was unique, as they were also raised by their mother, my ex. We worked out a compromise deal, and the kids seemed to have thrived because their best interests were put before our own.

I rarely had time to engage myself in dialogue concerning the politics, and differences in our Society. Things have changed during the recent few years gone by. My son is no longer dependant on me, and my daughter is older than he is.

So now, I focus on different interests, and I pursue new knowledge. I am not one who is comfortable in the debate mode. I see a thing wrong, and I want to lash out. I am beginning to see the futility of that.

I have never had the luxury of being able to give up a fight before. In prior battles the stakes were simply too high. These new battles, though in my view worthy are after all, inconsequential in the larger picture.

Funny, how your short post to me just then, can open my eyes so quickly, and simply.

Thank you!

I can relate to what IG said by comparing it to something I have been doing too much of during the Holidays.....eating pie.

If you eat the whole thing at one sitting your discomfort will be intense....however...eaten over a longer period of time will give you much more pleasure and satisfaction.

I have never had the luxury of being able to give up a fight before.

Knowing when to walk away from a fight is one of the most important things we learn as adults (yes,, we're adults before we figure that one out). I don't know anybody who gets it right everytime.

The deepest regrets I have in my life are the times I said nothing, when I should have been raising the roof.

I threw out an entire pumpkin pie this morning. The frosted Sugar Cookies go tomorrow, along with the end of the fudge and divinity. I'd have done it today, but the fellas would have missed it if I'd done it all at once.

When on low carb I feel cleansed....now I feel clogged. LOL

My plan is for Monday...but I may have to do it sooner.

YIKES! FReeper General is busy tonight.

Prayers for both you ladies.

And Peach, I agree: every day, especially in this election year, I'll be appreciating Brit Hume's intelligence, decency, and plain-old niceness.

I am under Dr.'s orders to "rest more than normal" until this improves. The way I'm feeling that won't be hard. Resting is about ALL I feel up to.

Good thing the Packer game isn't until Sunday. All that cheering & jumping up & down wouldn't be good right now.;^)
