We will not tire, we will not falter, and we will not fail!
Reuters is reporting that Saddam is singing like a canary and giving the U.S. information on hidden weapons and the names of people who may have as much as $40 billion.

Christmas is officially 'over' at our house. Everything went well. I hadn't seen my brother for a couple of years, so we enjoyed a really good visit.
The kids stayed for supper and helped me knock down the leftovers to a managable size. There is enough turkey left to make one caserole. I went to bed at 8:30 last night and plan to take a nap this afternoon.
I have this week 'off', but will return to a sporatic meeting schedule of meetings next week. The following week, I start the road trip thing again. The traveling will last until May, with weekends at home.

Good morning everyone. It's going to be in the mid-60's here in South Carolina and we're going to work in my parent's yard a bit today. Both my dad and mom are suffering from muscle spasms and are having 50 people for a New Year's Eve party. We'll be shopping for them and getting them all set up so they don't have to do anything but eat the party goodies and chat with friends.
We're giving our own New Year's Eve party for 12 people - very casual - and we play Guesstures which is a form of Charades. The men are far better at that party than one would expect, although it's still fun watching them try to mime threading a needle.

Plop the legs up and relax.Don't worry. I'm going to do just that. All week.

Peach, your party games sound great. I can only imagine the laughs.
It's time for me to start my day. I've been drinking coffee and playing at the computer since 4:30 am. I'd best get my rear in gear so I will be ready for a "Quality Nap" this afternoon.
To: Iowa Granny
IG - 4:30 a.m.! Goodness. For about 2 years I had insomnia and played at the computer for hours and now consider myself blessed to be sleeping better, although it's with the help of Tylenol PM. Hope you get some good rest after all your activities; a nap helps.

In the years when we played Pictionary, some of the guesses what was being drawn were downright scandalous! We love games and it's always so interesting to see how others think.

My Hubby was a blind date set up by my brother. For entertainment we played UNO.
To this day he tells everyone he won me in a card game. :-)
I guess that's better than opening my mouth and checking my teeth. LOL

Aren't you glad you got set up on that blind date? Good for your brother for setting it up! Sounds like your husband is ever so glad he "won" your heart.
Uno is a fun game, although I don't like sitting next to my husband because he positively gloats when he's able to give me a draw 4 card.
When we babysat the nieces for 3 weeks this summer while my brother and his wife went to Europe, we bought the kids the new Uno game. The machine shoots cards out when you get an Uno card and sometimes you can get as many as 12 cards (vs. the previous 4). I didn't care for it but the kids loved it - primarily because it makes noise.

Morning from balmy Maine. All those who need comfort this morning include thousands in Iran. I posted a poem and an appeal from World Vision at:
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/news/1048013/posts?page=1 Many Americans may not understand the symbolic import that the Mullah's have let military and humanitarian representatives of "The Great Satan" into their kingdom. Regarding pychological impact for some I imagine it might be like the Chinese who woke up one morning during the Cultural Revolution, when Mao had invited the chief running dog of Capitalism to breakfast and everyone was supposed to be happy with the new Party line. We are called by Christ to help these folks, and apart from that higher calling, it makes lots of political common sense to forge ties with the future leaders of Iran, not the Jew haters and bearded bozos who are trying to keep a grip on the people.

Morning from Maine, where it is balmy. I had a thread pulled from this and main board for "solicitation" because I mentioned the news that a certain aid agency was asking for help in Iran....I guess rules is rules, so I reposted the NEWS story about this, and the Pope's plea, so I hope this won't get pulled too. Maybe it isn't allowed to discuss mercy for people who live in the axis of evil here on FR?

Many prayers sent to the Iranian people during this tragedy. May they understand that the United States is not evil and is in fact willing to help them.

Those eagles sound really neat to watch. I'm sure they do a good job cleaning up the remains of the hog house. They are really cool birds.

JimRob has had to become very strict about solicitation rules ... and I understand why, though sometimes it is frustrating. There are over 100,000 FReepers now and each of us has very worthy causes we would like to mention. This place could quickly become a clearinghouse for such requests and get totally out of control.
Thank you for your concern and desire to help.
You ... and others ... may find this thread quite interesting ...
