Sometimes I think we have done way too much for mil...leaving her incapable of doing for herself or not wanting to do for herself.
I tell my kids to smack me side the head if I get like that. I don't see it happening. I'm far too independent.

A few people don't realize we REALLY ARE in a war. I think most thinking Americans know we are at war. The presstitutes are of another mindset. They are in denial, just as they are in denial about many things in our country. After all they are the brilliant, thoughtful, fair-minded, non-racist, reasonable, non-judgemental, people who have the intellectual capacity to contemplate the goings on in this world, therefore being able to reasonably tell us what we must think and that we are not at war. (I'm reading "Arrogance").

Yup, exactly. That is one of the downfalls of living here with Mom.
She is especially hard on the kids when I am not home...make her pour her coffee, get the mail, fix her lunch, etc.
I tell her when I am home, I cook dinner. Other meals, you are on your own.
Her breathing difficulties are because of her weight, and if she would walk around just doing daily routine things, her breathing wouldn't be so labored.
My sister that came by on Sat was shocked to see how bad Mom has gotten since just Sept.

Sorry to read of your loss Common Tator. I think Iowa Granny hit a lot of good points in her post. Sounds like they are concerned that you aren't taking care of yourself...in various ways. This may not be true, but they compare how you are today to how you were back then. And since there are differences now, they try to make things seem more like they are used to (in a way). It's a difficult perception for them to adjust.
Sounds to me you are blessed with caring family. That's a good thing ;^).

With all the attention on Vegas, it almost makes me think it could be a diversion. Are AQ that sophisticated in their tactics to create a diversion of attention? Who knows.
It's bad enough that I read a thread today that says the town where my kid goes to college is part of a circuit that disperses terrorists across the nation. Marvelous, I won't sleep well again for another 3 1/2 years.

Wow, I'm just catching up on pings and see I missed Ridge's conference. Pretty big time when he comes out at a presser I would say....

It makes you wonder just what information they have... And if America gets hit again, there are going to be some VERY angry people demanding action. The Saudis might want to give some thought to stopping anything before it happens.

His presser was just a re-run of what was in the news..nothing new.
But the fact that he had the presser is quite notable.

Hi, everybody!
I am back from babysitting. The baby has another ear infection and The Coopster took her to the doctor. My sister (the art teacher) came to visit. My grandson has a sign on his door that says (No Girls Allowed. Except family members.) HA! I guess he was thinking that if he didn't qualify it, no one would be doing his laundry.
I spent a good part of the day watching my grandson play the "Spongebob Squarepants-Battle for Bikini Bottom" Playstation Game. He is so good and fast on it that watching it gave me vertigo.
Nice day with the kids. I will be babysitting again tomorrow, so if I don't show up here you will know why. The only time I got on the site today I was reading about the Tom Ridge news conference.

Get this a BOMB went off the the Saudi capital....it was in a Security Service Police car.
Now why would a member to the Saudi Security Service be transporting a BOMB.
The story has fell off the media radar...

Work accident? Both the US and Israel have the capability to remotely explode devices. I suspect we've seen some of that in the past and will see more.

Interesting Thought. Something that went right over my head. Thanks for mentioning it.
