We will not tire, we will not falter, and we will not fail!

Good morning!!

Do not let the victims of the attacks on New York and Washington, nor the brave members of our Nation's military who have given their lives to protect our freedom, die in vain!!

The earthquake that occurred in Iran on Friday is now feared to have killed at least 20,000.

The CIA is building a case the anthrax attacks of two years ago was indeed the work of international terrorists. It is said the evidence is not conclusive, but is rather persuasive.

The Iraq War was voted as the top news story of 2003 by both American editors and World editors.

For AMERICA - The Right Way, I remain yours in the Cause, the Chairman.

My rose catalogue came yesterday. I am ready for spring!

We are having a warm spell, temperature in the 50's and tomorrow almost 60, so tomorrow we will be barbecuinug chicken on the outdoor grill.

I have eleven seed catalogs so far, I usually send my order in January and start the greenhouse in March, can plant the potatoes, carrots, radishes and beets in April, the rest in late May and early June. We still get quite a few frosts in May. I envy your winter planting...

Hello, I have resurfaced after a fairly strenuous workout. Three dives, two of them training dives and no time for sight seeing. I had a few challenges in that my lower back was causing difficulty and I was avoiding lifting much of anything. Fortunately, out of the nine of us diving, seven were men. We got in at ten last night. I went straight to bed.

I plan to start my plants in Jan and no later than Feb and hope to plant the garden in March. A lot of folks down here will not plant until after Easter but I am going to chance it and plant early. I am searching the catalogs for seedlings for potatoes and onions now but will look locally for them before ordering.

Bragging huh? Diving, warm water, no, more like 'rubbing it in'.

The weather is warm here but no way would I get in the water, it is cold.

I am going to take all the roses that Treva has given me and take them and plant them in my prayer park. I am just going to buy the ones I do purchase locally and let it go this year.

I wasn't bragging, GC6. Just talking. Now IF I were to brag, I would say something like the breezes gently moved the air at sundown in the quiet 85 degree air. One group, who was camping out that night, had started a campfire. The water was calm, gently lapping at the shoreline. Across the bay, the palm trees were shilouetted dark against the sky. As the moon rose in the night sky, we kitted up and entered the sea. Myriads of fish, normally hidden during the day, were swimming among the corak and anemones. Ahhh, bliss, to be in the tropics in December.

THAT would be bragging.

What impressed me yesterday was the vast diversity of God's creation. Humans are intricately wrought with many different systems needed to function. The mapping of the veins of the circulatory system is detailed; the nervous system is efficient. These things operate without our thinking about them.

But God created other creatures as well. The octopus (which I found yesterday) is a thinking creature able to respond to something it observes. Sponges are not so. And although a simple system fulfills an important function. We also saw cuttle fish as it attacked and consumed its prey. Each of these creatures differs widely from the other and yet the same God designed us all. Most inventors had only a few items to their credit and those are usually variations on the same type of thing.

Not so with God. He created different things as well as similar things. The "wow-ness" of creation never ceases to amaze me. In fact, the more I learn of it the more "wow!" there is.

My sister and niece just left. It was a short, but nice visit. I can't believe my niece is 30 already...sheesh time surely flies.

Sis brought her digital camera and portable printer with her to take some pics.

Crazy dog Daisy managed to wiggle her way into every picture that was taken.

She even posed for a few solo pictures too.

My niece wanted to take Daisy home with her for the week.

I love roses. They will make your prayer garden a thing of beauty. I would love to sit and meditate there sometime.

I think I've been holding up this thread long enough. I'm heading back to bed now.

If Daisy could talk, I imagine her somehow speaking in a feminine Scooby-Doo voice...;-)

HI!

I hate modern technology stuff.....I tried to hook up a wireless keyboard and mouse.....man it ate the install disk.... and the mouse wouldn't work.....keyboard wouldn't work..... I had to turn off the computer and reboot.. disconnect everything and go back to the old stuff for now..

Tomorrow I try to install an RF modulator on the TV so I can watch the DVD's.

Clueless in Jersey.

At the risk of sounding technical....do you have a VCR?

You could use cables to direct the output from the DvD to one of the inputs of your VCR...then all you have to do is select the INPUT from 1 to 4 to find the DvD...just a thought...

My brother used to live in Florida and did a lot of snorkeling, not nearly like diving but he sure enjoyed it.

I think snorkeling is a lot like diving only on the surface and a short way below.

Usually the objective is the same: see pretty fish and other marine life. I admit however, I see more when I can get amongst them.

During the night the fish often go to sleep. That is why the humphead banner fish I saw last night was drifting at an angle through the water. I also was able to stroke the dorsal fin of a moorish idol, too. That is weird as you usually can't get close to them.

It's just that usually one of your devices can be the 'master' unit that you can send all of your output to...

Like a VCR...on the remote for the VCR, if you click on the INPUT you will notice that it cycles thru several inputs....an each of those corresponds to an input on the back of the VCR where the cables connect....

So what I was saying was that Jim could connect he OUTPUT cables from his DvD to one of the INPUTs to his VCR...and then all he had to do was to hit the INPUT button on the remote to find the DvD when it was playing....

Never mind...;-)

That is good that you will move Treva's roses. I have a bush that I took from a start of a bush that my brother has. It is from a bush on my parents' property, that my dad brought back from Texas in the 30's. It is a bush rose that only blooms in the spring...the Yellow Rose of Texas.

I love roses not only for their beauty but for their history. I also have growing in my garden the White Rose of York and the Red Rose of Lancashire (from the War of the Roses) and bushes that are descended from the Empress Josephine of France's garden.

I also have Peace, which was smuggled out of France before the Germans invaded, and was introduced commercially in 1946, right after WWII ended.

I am looking to order the Ronald Reagan rose, which I will plant near the Barbara Bush plants.

I am quite partisan, and will NOT order John F. Kennedy! If Jackson and Perkins ever introduces a Hillary Clinton or X-42 Rose, they are done with my business. HA!
