Thanks, ladies. I'm not quite as stoic as Dad. I cried like a little girl on my drive home tonight.
I'm going to go watch a movie with Trill, and escape for a little bit.

Best picture I've seen of Chris Hovan.
Is he facing East, paying homage to Green Bay?
To: MozartLover
Ok. I'm back. The movie was ok. I'm getting ready to play some comfort music on the keyboard. I'm going to smoke a cigarette, and play a little piano, and say some prayers and call it a night.
God bless us all. Each, and every one.

I think I am going to quit making invitations for dinner or parties at my house. I've had four parties at my house since right before Thanksgiving, and three have gone poof because of illness or weather. My youngest sister and parents were supposed to come to dinner this evening, but cancelled. They have the nasty virus cold thingie going around. I will say the roast and veggies I made were quite tasty, good thing, they will be my meals for the next few days.
I'm almost afraid to make New Year's Eve plans. At this point, I may just stay home and FReep...

Another snow picture from Utah. It is quite beautiful. I measured the snow in the courtyard next to me this morning, 13 inches. We haven't had snow like this for 10 years. I attended my sister's ward (congregation) today, as I was driving there, I was struck by the mountains of snow sitting in the parking lots of malls. The mounds of snow were at least 15 feet high. Lots and lots of snow here. Anyway, here are a couple more pictures from Utah.

Bill Stakely creates a trench as he clears the sidewalk near his house on the Bountiful bench Saturday morning. More than 20 inches of snow had accumulated this morning. Forecasters say more is coming Monday.

I'm ba-a-a-a-c-k!
We had a really good weekend .... nothing spectacular but saw lots of friends and family, including going to church this morning in the town I still consider "home" .... the one where our kids were born and raised. It was great to see so many dear friends there. We nearly caused church to start late .... we got there just as the choir was going over to the sanctuary. They all stopped to hug us and almost didn't get in their places in time. I know the new pastor must have wondered who in the heck we were .... LOL!
Quite tired from all the traveling so I won't be lingering long.
Guennie ~~~ hope you've made it home with a minimum of pain!
John ~~~ your dad remains in our prayers, as do you.
Jay ~~~ enjoyed the account of your trip. Please add more details as you recall them.
Utah Girl ~~~ the snow is beautiful .... out there. I certainly wouldn't find it so pretty if it were here though. I hope that helps your drought situation some.

Welcome home! Sounds as if your trip was a good one, and best of all, you sound rested.
The snow is quite beautiful, but can be really a mess to live in. I ventured out for church today, and will do so for work this week, but otherwise, I am staying home.

We had "Snow Piles" like you've described several years ago. A local radio station held a contest,, asking people to guess the date and time the snow piles would eventually melt.
I'm glad it's you and not us. All that snow in the mountains should replentish reseviors and aquafers. For all things, there is a reason.

Here's a laugher...
Just saw a quote in the Minneapolis Star Tribune from a fan by the name of Preston Jackson, Spooner, WI. (Of all places...) He said it is a conspiracy. The NFL wanted the Packers to be in the playoffs.
Uhhh... could it be Preston that it was another classic collapse by the Vikqueens?

Morning Granny.
Most of the snow we had was washed away by the rain on Saturday, and the unseasonably warm temps yesterday.
Is it December?

It looks like Mid March at our house. No snow, just brown.
Some were disappointed about the snowless Christmas. But when you have family and friends traveling, it suits me just fine to know they won't contend with slippery roads.
My brother drove 9 hrs roundtrip to dine with us yesterday. Knowing he was driving on dry roads took much of the worry away.
