I like what he said at the very end, that Bush whomping on Saddam, etc., hasn't just crippled the terrorists, it's crippled the dems.

I saw RotK yesterday and Mark Levin has it exactly right. I would have loved to see a longer movie, and told my friend who saw all three movies with me that RotK actually could have been two movies.

And here's my big news flash review after watching all three. PJ should have cast the man who played Eomer as Aragorn. YES! I never liked Viggo as the king; only as Strider, and I do not find him an attractive lead excepting in how very well he acted out Elrond's castigation that "men are weak." Eomer, despite his youth (in real life) carried his role extremely well and would have been a very believable, very honcho, Aragorn, and a great love interest for Arwen. All they'd have had to do is make him up to look a bit older.

These critiques are not because of being a starry-eyed teen as I am neither.

Just catching up on some old Hobbit Hole threads. Regarding Eomer as Aragorn; Aragorn was supposed to be, well, less than good looking. (Look fouler and feel fairer, to paraphrase Frodo) Eomer, on the other hand, is GORGEOUS *sigh*. He's my favorite heartthrob in the movie - replacing Legolas and Faramir - close seconds. No, Eomer is too good-looking, and a fit man to take the place of Theoden as king of Rohan - which I assume he did. From the beginning, I was never much interested in Aragorn. I liked the Aragorn in the book, but the Viggo Mortensen version did nothing for me!

No way! Eomer was okay, but Viggo (his personal politics notwithstanding) WAS Aragorn. Also, he is older, but still has a face that made it easy to show him as being either older or younger as the scene called for.
