My Dragon Fly and Me
If I could be a Dragon Fly and wing my way through the sky I would never be shy just me and my Dragon Fly!
By moonlight we ride the wind chase the comets tail for fun by day we would hide from the sun our fragile wings would come undone
On darkest nights we would use fireflies as our guide we would dip and we would glide through the heavens open wide and scatter diamonds in the night sky my Dragon Fly and I...
And we would wing past our lovers silent in the night... to kiss their face in our flight much to their surprise and delight my Dragon Fly and me in sight...
Such a view do we share away up here in the air of breezes soft through our hair my Dragon Fly and me a pair...

Sometimes your words make me wonder what might have been. :)There's quite a few poets who post here that do that. Get a lot of warm, fuzzies on this thread.
Thanks Feather.

Seasonal Dichotomy
I hear the wind howl across the frozen land,
and I dream of a Summer day along the river.
As icicles edge the roof line with crystal trim from Winters hand,
yet I hear the soft song of bubbling waters over the encroaching shivers.
I smell the dust hanging in the air just before a rain, and it teases me,
nothing at all like chill scentless air bare of hidden allure.
The Summer Dream I call it, haunting me so completely,
like I was walking down that quiet road, a evening tour.
Oh to pace off that road again in shirt sleeves and shorts to the rivers edge,
and sit on Millers Bridge and splash my feet with total joy.
Instead I sit here and dream, yet plan ahead and make my pledge,
that for a brief but wondrous moment, I can be that lucky boy!

Good one Trike.
Funny how in winter we dram of summer days and in summer we remember the winter ones.

Hi Trike,
Always so nice to read your work.
Your poem evokes many strong images, such as smelling the dust in the air before a storm.

Saddam I am
(in the style of Dr. Seuss)

Where would you hide that sly desert fox?
Would you hide Saddam in a box?
Yes, oh yes, a hole in the ground!
Deep in a hole, that's where he was found!
Into a rat hole, his legs he did cram!
Yes, we found him closed up like a dam!
I think we will teach him one thing or two.
I'm sure that on something we'll give him to chew.
For a year, maybe ten, or a hundred and fifty.
Solitary confinement forever, now that would be nifty!
So we have him, we have the big king of the pond
He will not get away, he cannot post bond.
So that is the end of his rule as a tyrant,
And now we can again focus on Kobe Bryant.

I was imagining you here in my shadow under a starless world inhaling love breathing you into existence. You'll be my love in the end, is desire exhaled?

What a thing to wake up to huh? Ewww. I had to look at a picture of a slaughtered pig to get that image out of my mind. LOL. Goodness does prevail. I managed to shake both those images off!
shh...quiet...close eyes...ahhh, now I'm thinking of the image I want to wake up to. That's better.
Don't do that again!

I'm fond of that poem as well, I just
wish I'd written it. Unfortunately, that's
not the kind of poetic talent I have.
