My Dragon Fly and Me
If I could be a Dragon Fly and wing my way through the sky I would never be shy just me and my Dragon Fly!
By moonlight we ride the wind chase the comets tail for fun by day we would hide from the sun our fragile wings would come undone
On darkest nights we would use fireflies as our guide we would dip and we would glide through the heavens open wide and scatter diamonds in the night sky my Dragon Fly and I...
And we would wing past our lovers silent in the night... to kiss their face in our flight much to their surprise and delight my Dragon Fly and me in sight...
Such a view do we share away up here in the air of breezes soft through our hair my Dragon Fly and me a pair...

Hello and
Welcome to The Lair.
Yes, by all means this lyric posting is welcome here!
Song lyrics are poetry and often our poets post them.
Grab a chair and something to drink we love having you here.

Our President and his Friend make a touching picture.

Good morning SAM!
I love this little poem today. Have not gotten to the tunes yet, but thanks so much for Breakfast in The Lair. Radu loves those crumbs in her early morning visits.
To: Conspiracy Guy
Yes, indeed they do. I have so much respect for our President. A man of honor.

Good morning, all!
Forget Not Yet
Forget not yet the tried intent
Of such a truth as I have meant
My great travail so gladly spent
Forget not yet.
Forget not yet when first began
The weary life ye knew, since whan
The suit, the service, none tell can,
Forget not yet.
Forget not yet the great assays,
The cruel wrongs, the scornful ways,
The painful patience in denays
Forget not yet.
Forget not yet, forget not this,
How long ago hath been, and is,
The mind that never means amiss;
Forget not yet.
Forget not yet thine own approved,
The which so long hath thee so loved,
Whose steadfast faith yet never moved,
Forget not this.

I love her voice, too. Irish songs are most beautiful. Glad you like her. Of course, Phil Collins is pretty dang soothing!!

He is indeed. Honor, Courage, and Conviction. Three unbeatable traits. I do think I'm better looking and smarter. I just don't have time to fool around with being President. I'm glad he wasn't doing anything else ; )

Good morning MBY. How nice to see you. :)
Thank You.
To: Colonel_Flagg
Very well indeed thank you. I would like it very much to have you post any of his works. This is a home of poetry, both Contemporary, original and Classical.
To: bentfeather
Another of my favorites. I also admire Emily Bronte, as you'll find out :)
I Find No Peace
I find no peace, and all my war is done;
I fear, and hope. I burn, and freeze like ice.
I fly above the wind, yet can I not arise.
And naught I have, and all the world I seize on.
That loseth nor locketh holdeth me in prison,
And holdeth me not, yet can I 'scape nowise;
Nor letteth me live nor die at my devise,
And yet of death it giveth me occasion.
Without eyen* I see, and without tongue I plain; [eyes]
I desire to perish, and yet I ask health;
I love another, and thus I hate myself;
I feed me in sorrow, and laugh at all my pain.
Likewise displeaseth me both death and life,
And my delight is causer of this strife.

I hope you enjoy bentfeathers little poetry place. We have a lot of fun here.
I see from your profile page you enjoy history. Please feel welcome to stop by the FReeper Foxhole and visit with us for military history and some wonderful conversation.
When we're not studying history, we're writing poetry (or trying to). :)

Welcome to the Lair. I'm a newbie myself.
As Bentfeather has told me countless times, feel free to be yourself here. No one judges you and the atmosphere is wonderful!
