~The Dragon Flies' Lair VI ~
December 17,2003 | bentfeather

My Dragon Fly and Me

If I could be a Dragon Fly
and wing my way through the sky
I would never be shy
just me and my Dragon Fly!

By moonlight we ride the wind
chase the comets tail for fun
by day we would hide from the sun
our fragile wings would come undone

On darkest nights we would use
fireflies as our guide
we would dip and we would glide
through the heavens open wide
and scatter diamonds in the night sky
my Dragon Fly and I...

And we would wing past our lovers
silent in the night...
to kiss their face in our flight
much to their surprise and delight
my Dragon Fly and me in sight...

Such a view do we share
away up here in the air
of breezes soft through our hair
my Dragon Fly and me a pair...

Thank You.

Oh no I don't mind at all.

I really have no idea. I am really weird, Colonel. LOL

Oh! Well, I wouldn't say you're "weird" at all. Charming, yes, but certainly not weird. Such a designation I reserve entirely to myself.

Words seem to flow easily from you. I don't claim to have any idea what makes a proper poem but it's fun learning what everyone else thinks!

Well, that's the beauty of Free Verse writing. You have more of a sense of poetry that you give yourself allowance for.

Sometimes I find it difficult to write. It depends so much on stimulation and a well cared for muse. I was not always able to do that. Life is different now, nothing is stealing my creative energy.

Good morning snippy!!

It's great today! Sun is out - no snow, warm temps.

It's takes a while for the PST folks to get a move on!!

LOL

It's nice we have tunes every day in The Lair.

You must be getting the weather we had yesterday, nice sunshine and up to 59 degrees. Odd for the end of December but a welcome break.

I just hate the time zone difference between Sam and I, seems like we miss a lot of each other while one is sleeping and the other isn't. :-(

Get outside and enjoy your weather while you can.

In the year 2525

In the year 2525
If man is still alive
If woman can survive
They may find........

In the year 3535
Ain't gonna need to tell the truth, tell no lies
Everything you think, do, or say
Is in the pill you took today

In the year 4545
Ain't gonna need your teeth, won't need your eyes
You won't find a thing to chew
Nobody's gonna look at you

In the year 5555
Your arms are hanging limp at your sides
Your legs got nothing to do
Some machine, doing that for you

In the year 6565
Ain't gonna need no husband, won't need no wife
You'll pick your son, pick your daughter too
From the bottom of a long glass tube
In the year 7510
If God's a comin' he ought to make it by then
Maybe he'll look around himself and say
``Guess it's time for the Judgement day''

In the year 8510
God's gonna shake his mighty head
He'll either say ``I'm pleased where man has been''
Or tear it down and start again
In the year 9595
I'm kinda wondering if man's gonna be alive
He's taken everything this old earth can give
And he ain't put back nothing...

Now it's been 10,000 years
Man has cried a billion tears
For what he never knew
Now man's reign is through
But through the eternal night
The twinkling of starlight
So very far away
Maybe it's only yesterday...

In the year 2525
If man is still alive
If woman can survive
They may find.......

Wow Sam the graphic and lyrics are astounding. The song was from the 60s and then we had 9/11.

Whew.

Today is Monday, Dec. 29, the 363rd day of 2003 with two to follow.
The moon is waxing.
The morning stars are Jupiter, Mercury, Saturn and Pluto.
The evening stars are Venus, Mars, Uranus and Neptune.

I love a waxing moon!

I'm blundering in circles, as I sometimes do when I try to keep my mind off something.
