My Dragon Fly and Me
If I could be a Dragon Fly and wing my way through the sky I would never be shy just me and my Dragon Fly!
By moonlight we ride the wind chase the comets tail for fun by day we would hide from the sun our fragile wings would come undone
On darkest nights we would use fireflies as our guide we would dip and we would glide through the heavens open wide and scatter diamonds in the night sky my Dragon Fly and I...
And we would wing past our lovers silent in the night... to kiss their face in our flight much to their surprise and delight my Dragon Fly and me in sight...
Such a view do we share away up here in the air of breezes soft through our hair my Dragon Fly and me a pair...

Boy, did you ask for it .. :)
The Night
In the whispers of the wind I hear your sighs
The breeze, like your breath upon my cheek
Its soft touch, your fingers on my skin
The morning dew, the sweetness of our love.
The guests had left, just you and I remained
I had to thank you for the gift you gave
I helped you clear the table, saw your smile
And knew our celebrating was not done.
Come here, you said, and then you pulled me close
Your hands caressed my face and held me there
You looked at me, we smiled and we both knew
We knew ... my dearest love, we knew.
Our work now done, you softly took my hand
And led me to the place that we both know
Your body, soft and perfect, next to mine
Lay here, you said, and let me love you more.
Your hands, your lips, your skin all met with mine
Urging, seeking, now driving frantically
I looked up to see you poised in all your splendor
Your storm broke, my name was on your lips.
You said, My love, its your day, and you kissed me
And tenderly you brought me where youd been
Never have I felt such love, such power
As the night we found the place that we both know.
In the whispers of the wind I hear your sighs
The breeze, like your breath upon my cheek
Its soft touch, your fingers on my skin
The morning dew, the sweetness of our love.
I walk, alone, along the grassy meadow
I think of you, my true and dearest love
Lamenting how I miss you, how I grieve still
But knowing love abides and always will.

My Love in Her Attire
by Author Unknown
My love in her attire doth show her wit,
It doth so well become her:
For every season she hath dressings, fit,
For winter, spring, and summer.
No beauty she doth miss,
When all her robes are on:
But Beauty's self she is,
When all her robes are gone.
To: bentfeather
That's magnificent .. thank you so much! In my collection it goes :)

Touche´ Colonel.......
The Night
The night laid bare
and you're not there
I miss your touch
the cute curve of your smile
the softness of your skin
against mine
the warmth of you
and your laugh
our dreams...
The way we planned
to forever be
me for you
you for me
and I love you
more than I can
ever say
by darkest night
or brightest day...
Everything you are to me
highest mountains
calmest sea
thorned roses
you give to me
iced tea and
afternoon delight
on the balcony
you raise me to the
tallest heights
when we love
through the night
And yes, I would crawl
over broken glass for you
you're in my Psyche
you're in my soul
I carry you where ever I go
I never want to be free of you
You are all the contest I want
or need
When will be meet again my love
I burn with desire for the nearness
of your breath on my neck
and your fingers in my hair
the soft way you say...
I love you today.

Sadly, I didn't write this poem... It's
one of my favorite poems ever written.
Bedouin Song
By Bayard Taylor
From the desert I come to thee
On a stallion shod with fire;
And the winds are left behind
In the speed of my desire.
Under thy window I stand
And the midnight hears my cry;
I love thee, I love but thee,
With a love that cannot die
Till the sun grows cold,
And the stars are old,
And the leaves of the Judgment Book unfold!
Look from thy window and see
My passion and my pain;
I lie on the sands below
And I faint in thy disdain.
Let the night-winds touch thy brow
With the heat of my burning sigh,
And melt thee to hear the vow
Of a love that shall not die
Till the sun grows cold,
And the stars are old,
And the leaves of the Judgment Book unfold!
My steps are nightly driven
By the fever in my breast
To hear from thy lattice breathed
The word that shall give me rest.
Open the door of thy heart
And open thy chamber door,
And my kisses shall teach thy lips
The love that shall fade no more
Till the sun grows cold,
And the stars sre old,
And the leaves oif the Judgment Book unfold!

It was censored! You wouldn't want to kill the Colonel, now, would you? ;)

The Crucible of Bitter Sweet Love
In the crucible of love again
how could I hold in it
not tell you of the glowing love
I hold for you?
Can a peacock hide its many feathered eyes?
Can a rose hide its bloom?
Did serendipity kiss me again a fool
bush my face with her feather of phantom love
start my heart singing out love songs for you
and cupid pierce my heart to mock me?
Does she bring only pain or does this pain
mingling with the joy I feel to become a
golden apple of love that I must work for...
You are my golden apple, my peacock, my angst,
my joy, my sorrow, my night, my day,
my ceremony in candle light and ashes, my trail by fire..
My love light burns for you...
Oh walker of the stars
painter of night skies
caresser of magic paint my colors red, for love
purple for unbridled, unashamed passion
green for growing, lavender for soft, blue for bliss,
brown for dying, black for death...
Paint it all that I may see the entire painting
and longingly
burn in the crucible of loves trying fire...
Are there enough tears to dampen the fire to see your face
through a lover eyes? I don't know...

I was a member at another site and submitted it for review and was told it was not to be posted. LOL

I love this imagery. Whatever I like to read, the words must paint a vivid picture and this certainly does. Well done :)

You're welcome. It's from a book
that is/was actually my mother's.
It has quite a lovely collection
including "Annabel Lee" & "How
Do I Love Thee?". I liked the
book so much, I permanently
borrowed it from my mom.
She doesn't seem to mind.

Well surprise Colonel, that was not the poem! That was another one I have never posted. (Pretty sure anyway)
Your poem is lovely. Please don't blush, I am sure we are adults here and understand poetry.
For sure, we are human and all of us understand that.
