Hello everyone! I'm still alive and kicking in case y'all were wondering. ;-) Been very busy with 'stuff' that eats away at my FReeping time.
My daughter Melissa is engaged and I am consumed with planning a wedding. It's next December but I already feel behind the power curve. Just got home from Indianapolis where Matt and I were for the weekend. Had a great time with Missy and Nick and his parents. OMG, Nick's dad - Rich - is so much like Matt. I am afraid, very afraid, of what's going to happen at their reception! It'll be a fun party, but maybe a bit embarrasing for the newlyweds! Those guys have some great stories to tell. hahahahahaha
Sasso Update - Mentally, Sasso is almost his old 'Whiney Feliney' self again. We still don't think he can see much, if at all - BUT he has started to jump onto furniture and back down in the last week. I can't believe I am excited that my kitty can jump up on my furniture (and leave his hair and occasionally knock stuff over, etc!). ;-)
Unfortunately only a small part of his skin graft took very well. The other grafted skin died leaving a large open wound. The vet is very disappointed, but she thinks eventually the wound will heal enough that she can stretch the skin and stitch it together. We decided against trying another graft because Sasso is a high-risk patient and it may not be successful. Continued prayers for my baby are appreciated.
Hope y'all are doing well. I've missed each of you!

The Gift Of Obedience
Read: Zechariah 7
Should you not have obeyed the words which the Lord proclaimed? Zechariah 7:7
Bible In One Year: Hebrews 5-7
It's that time of year again when people think about God and goodwill more than they do at any other time. It seems that the nearer we get to Christmas, the more we notice that people have a willingness to express an interest in religious things. Both church attendance and church activities increase.
Does this heightened religious activity honor the Lord? We must be careful that what takes place is not what happened to the people of Zechariah's day. Although they engaged in religious activities, they were out to please only themselves. A vital element was missingobedience to God.
Instead of their conducting empty rituals, God wanted them to show their obedience to Him by: (1) administering true justice, (2) showing mercy and compassion, (3) refusing to oppress widows, orphans, and the poor, and (4) not planning evil against others (Zechariah 7:9-10).
We can best honor God during this special season by evaluating our own devotion to Him in light of these four commands to God's people. Our Lord does not want empty, self-centered religious activities from us. He wants the gift of obedience expressed in acts of kindness and helpfulness for those less fortunate than we are. He's leaping onto things and pawing things down?
That's a sign that he's feeling better.
Thanks for the update on Sasso.
He's a tough cat.
