Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Where Many Paths and Errands Meet...
The Road goes ever on and on
Down from the door where it began.
Now far ahead the Road has gone,
And I must follow, if I can,
Pursuing it with eager feet,
Until it joins some larger way
Where many paths and errands meet.
And whither then? I cannot say.

For me it only seems to be vacuum cleaners. And it is a HUGH joke among my friends. My kids were always in charge of vacuuming... the beast behaved for them. Had 2 of 'em when the youngest kid left home 6 months ago. Both are non-functional now. I got another friend to come over here and vacuum for me last time. It is just freakin' weird.

That was NOT spam...

Okay, so what's my likely problem if I have static in one speaker while playing a DVD? I don't seem to have it on other applications. On a computer, right? Does it sound like static really, or more like a speaker being pushed to the distortion point? Could be that there's a blown or almost blown speaker and regular apps don't generate the right freqs in high enough volume to make it show up.
Or maybe try jiggling the cords.

Never too adventurous. I would just wear out trying to keep up. I ain't 25 anymore.... even though I am an elf, it makes a VEY slight difference. *wink*

For me it's technology in general.
Kinda like the one guy in Jurassic Park.
"Uh oH, Doc Grant touched it!"

Tried jiggling the cords. What do I do if the speaker is blown? And how would I know?

Don't worry. The Maker's Mark bottle is still 80% full...

Like what??Well, in the scene where Mystique is stealing the computer records, if you stop-frame it when the computer screen is shown, you can read all the names displayed there. Every name is of a mutant that has appeared in one of the comic books. The file folder names are significant too!
When Mystique is in the bar, on the TV playing in the background you can see the name Dr. Henry McCoy. Henry ("Hank") McCoy is the mutant known as The Beast, one of the founding members of the X-Men (in the comic book).
Hiding the following because it contains spoilers!
The fluctuations in Jean Grey's power at the end were very significant; it was the start of a storyline that in the comic books is called The Phoenix Saga. Basically, Jean didn't die at the end of the movie; she returns with vastly increased powers, and is re-named The Phoenix. It doesn't go well, because she starts to go out of control and has to be stopped by the X-Men. That's how the story went in the comic book, anyway.
Most X-Men comics today I would rate at PG-13 or even R, so you might want to wait a while before getting any for the Jedis to read. The older ones would be ok, but most of them are pretty expensive collector's items, now.

Yes, that seems to be the only time.
Happened first time when I watched Matrix Reloaded the other night. Playing FOTR now. Temporarily fixed it by unplugging the left speaker.

What is the deal at the end of the movie, where they are showing the water...
What is under the water, do you know?? I couldn't figure it out.
Steve and I both agreed there has to be a X3.
We really like the movies...even Joshua watches them and they are just GREAT!

You know, for all yer whinin' about them, Luke went up to check on Nana. She read to him in his room and he decided it was time for bed.
(okay, the drugs probably helped, but still...)
