Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Where Many Paths and Errands Meet...
The Road goes ever on and on
Down from the door where it began.
Now far ahead the Road has gone,
And I must follow, if I can,
Pursuing it with eager feet,
Until it joins some larger way
Where many paths and errands meet.
And whither then? I cannot say.

Sesame Street runs a close second, if not first. No - believe me, Teletubbies is wayyyy worse! I actually remember SOME funny songs and stories on Sesame Street, though the more recent episodes I've seen (it's been years, but...) WERE pretty annoying. Still pale in comparison to...that other show.
Barney ranks above Sesame Street, too, I'd say. Especially the ones with Baby Bop.

I really wish you all could see the thing. Haven't got a good picture of it because the camera flash causes the decopauge to glare terribly.
Near the teletubbies were the idjits from dumb and dumber, and the horrid picture of "Bored Hillary"- you know the one with all the wrinkles and bags. The motivational statement (with potty humor double entendre) was "80% of what you do is attitude, 20% skill."
Twas a masterpiece.

I will let you know! I'll also havta give it a try... maybe call up some of the Hobbits I know...
I think my car has some scratches on it. These girls had a TON of luggage. I had to pack three times. It reminds me of a scene in To Say Nothing of the Dog, where the heroes are trying to pack their luggage into a boat before heading down the Thames, and it takes them forever...

My kids grew up before Barney or teletubbies, so I never been afflicted with 'em, luckily, apparently. But Sesame Street drove me so crazy, that it still makes me feel weak, just thinking about it.
That Henson guy was kind of twisted, I think.

Ooooh! I like it!
Does that make me mean spirited?
Probably.
'nite all. Got chores to do.

Yeah Hensen was twisted.
Just check out the movie "Labyrinth".
Besides, who would think up a monster that lives in a garbage can, and a count that looks and acts like Marv Albert?

anyone know the running time for the extended version of TTT?
To: HairOfTheDog
Wow! New thread. More threads than movies!

Okay talk to me about mp3 format (remembering I am technically illiterate). Jr. wants a new (portable) CD player and wants to be able to play mp3 format. What do we need to look for? Most new portables have this capability. Just look for one that says it will play MP3 CDs. Then you can just burn the MP3s to a disc and play them, the advantage being you can fit about 6-10 CDs worth on one disc.
And, does he just download the mp3s off of the net? I'm aware there's cost involved now. (well to do it legally, right?)
Right. I haven't really tried any of the new commercial sites yet, but I think the leading one is Apple's iTunes. Another option is to copy CDs he already has into MP3s. I always loved being able to take discs of MP3's to work and have a wide selection of my albums available on only a handful of discs.

Your just lucky you don't remember Howdy Doody and Clara Bell, and all them. Even as a kid, when they were on, I hated them.
Come to think of it, Rocky and Bullwinkle drove me crazy, too.
OTOH, for kid's stuff, as a kid, I loved the Little Rascals and the 3 Stooges, in fact, still like them.

I grew up on the Electric Company as well as Sesame Street. Imagine my confusion when Morgan Freeman started doing movies! I recognized him immediately.
