The first couple of days he sounded like a different man. I couldn't quite figure out why. Now he is sounding like his old self. His ideas are on target and he can still battle them all "with half his brain tied behind his neck."

I like him so much better since he has returned. e is a little more angry but that is what was missing from the show, IMO.

I couldn't listen to the golf talk, the name dropping, ad nauseum.

Of course he's different: addiction treatment is a total life change, because the substance abuse addiction by definition had a negative impact on every aspect of a person's life. Removing that negative influence from one's life, and the healing process that follows, should cause a noticeable change in the individual.

Don't you think taking high doses of hydrocodone and oxycontin on a daily basis affects someone's behavior?

How could you expect him to be the same after he got off the stuff?

Am I whining?

Everybody changes. Sometimes it is for the better, but usually it is part of the long, gradual descent into senescence and strained peas.

I've had just the opposite reaction. I had decided not to listen to him anymore because of his hiatus and the reasons therfore, but decided to give him one more chance. I must say, since he's been back I think he is much better, less in the ass of the Republican party and more like his old pre-1994 days. All in all I'd say his drug abuse was clearly effecting the quality of his show.

I'm not one to approve of saying just anything, but I sense a seminar caller blitz. When Rush goes to a break I sometimes flip stations and listen to Liddy, and he had a woman make a comment about words he's used. This is all within a twenty minute period. Coincidence?

I have not heard his since he returned. But over the last few years he got too full of himself for my taste.

He still Rush to me. I love his "testicles in a lockbox" depiction of how Hildebeast controls her interviews and am LOLing at these whiny women calling in to fuss about his "language."

I'm curious, he's made no mention of his wife Marta since he got back, or, if he has, I didn't hear it. Could it be there's a little marital trouble in paradise?

You really shouldn't listen to him anymore.

He doesn't need you.

Something has changed in his demeanor.

Could you be a little more specific?

Bump!

I just sent him 2 email rockets extolling the 2 ladies that called and criticized his increasing crudity. I asked him that if his mother were still alive, how would she react to his "potty mouth"?

It is obvious that he has fallen for the "psychobabble" visited upon him during his recent stint at the hospital. I'm very familiar with the routine that the psychogists follow, and his embracing of it is classic...and very misguided.

If I were he, considering his recent bout with drugs, I would be squeaky clean in my presentations. He seems to be doing exactly the opposite. He should not leave himself open to such easy critism.

He's just about lost me as a listener, which I have been since he started.

And another thing, I'm getting really tired of his "put on" laugh.

I've only listened to Rush a handful of times, so I suppose I'm not the most qualified or entitled to address his listeners. But I will say that it makes perfect sense that you notice a change in him. After all, recent events have exposed him as a hypocrite, all the exhortations to the contrary on FR notwithstanding. When a man is exposed as a hypocrite before the whole world, it's only natural that his self-confidence be deeply shaken, and that the face he has always presented to his fellows take on a unfamiliar expression.

I really don't think Limbaugh can survive as a popular radio host.

Maybe you are just out of sync with Rush's "cycles". I've turned him off for months at a time, myself.

Or, it could be he hasn't gotten over his month of indoctrination. There was a recent thread on an article by an alcoholic about "12 Step programs" filling a spiritual need.

The author found that "cultural spiritualness" lacking, so he opted to go back to his own religion and stay sober.

If it works for those in "the program" I suppose its okay to a point. Rush's preachy-ness was getting on my nerves too, but so do a lot of other talk shows.
