We will not tire, we will not falter, and we will not fail!
Good morning!!
Do not let the victims of the attacks on New York and Washington, nor the brave members of our Nation's military who have given their lives to protect our freedom, die in vain!!
Algore, the man who only in his own mind was once the next President of the United States, is set to lend his endorsement to Howard Dean for the job. Senator LIEberman is less than pleased with the former Vice President's decision.
Japan has approved a dispatch of non-combat troops to Iraq, the largest such deployment beyond that country's border since World War II.
For AMERICA - The Right Way, I remain yours in the Cause, the Chairman.

The Coopster called me today and went on a marvelous 20-minute rant on liberal friends who foist their opinions on us. I wish I had a transcript!Oh, if you don't mind me chiming in on that topic, last Easter when we were anticipating our family get-together, my husband I vowed not to discuss politics with his very vocally anti-war, liberal brother. Then the brother and girlfriend arrive wearing anti-war BUTTONS. Somehow I got seated at the table closer to this couple, so the strain was more on me, but I managed to say not one word, except to insist that I knew who Barbara Kingsolver was, when the brother mentioned he had met her (she lives in Tucson), and when he asked me if I knew who she was I said "yes", then he started to explain she was an author so I interrupted and said, "yes, I know who she is", and I turned away.
Thankfully the children were to my right, so whenever they started to hold forth I diverted my attention to the kids.
We noticed that while this couple felt free to ascend a soapbox, we felt compelled to keep silent in the interest of maintaining a pleasant and lowkey dinner.
Sigh

I went and bought Daisy her own bed at Walmart today.
She keeps falling asleep on my legs or behind my legs which causes me not to sleep too well.(she is quite heavy!!)
I brought the bed in and put it on the floor and showed it to her, telling her it was her new bed.
After I brought her in, she came back in and sat in her bed with her chewy hide.

Hey! Just saw your post.
The Coopster is very smart and very eloquent, but sometimes doesn't realize his gifts.
I bet he could win a seat on the school board, at least.
To: Miss Marple
He should go for either town supervisor ...fuggetabout the school board. He's good.

It's our natures ladies!
Jane, your son reminds me of the email - really rants - I get from John. His targets: leftist madness and mischief. There's definitely a straight line from my father, thru me, to John.
Time to get dressed for concert tonight. 'Fraid we're last on the program, too. I don't mind listening to the other performers, but by 8:30, my mind, let alone my voice, won't be so good as earlier.
I think tomorrow night is HGTV's WH tour with Laura, right???

I have commented on this before. Conservatives remain polite and do not bring up politics in social gatherings. Liberals always do so. I have had this experience in my own family, the last being at a weiner roast in October, where my brother opined on the wonderfulness of John F. Kerry.
On the other hand, I didn't say a word at Thanksgiving even though I knew that Bush had been in Baghdad before we arrived at the family gathering.
My husband says it is the same impulse that drives miscreants to get others to accompany them in their misdeeds. It is a compulsion to get people to validate their opinions, which they deep in their hearts know are wrong.

He doesn't live where there is a town supervisor. He would have to run for Mayor of Indianapolis, and I think that would be too much of a hurdle for one's first election.
I think school board....>state legislature......>Congress.
I bet you he could beat Julia Carson! Heheheh!
To: Miss Marple
Ah so he lives in a bigger municipality...then your ladder of progression is quite right.

Wait a minute....
Lemme consult the 'Ye Olde Man Book -- Millenium Edition...'
...Yup...Just like I thought...
It says right here (and I quote):
'Iff'n the man is in any way injured
No matter how slight;
Then he shall protract it
With all his might.
'Now if the woman be ill
Or injured or lame;
Or requiring attention
Or wanting of same,
'Then the Man shall be stoic
And crass and even gruff,
And shall say, 'C'mon, there woman!
Just walk it off!''
So it is written, so it shall be done...;-)
To: Neets
About the same. He's put a stop to chemo for the time being.

Hey, you girls were complaining why men act a certain way, I just explained it: We live by a code....;-)

Perhaps you guys have seen it... I'm just catching up on some reading, this one being the August Atlantic Monthly, which came to my home while I was happily away perched upon a Maine dock before the loveliest Maine lake, drinking a fine Maine bloody mary.
Anyway, it has Christopher Hitchens' review of the Blumenthal squealch, I mean, book. Hitchens was a friend of the Sid Baby, and they fell out during the Monica business. Seems that Sid Baby got in some bad words about Hitchens, and this review is Hitchens' reply. If you haven't seen it, it's a nice recount of the Clinton impeachment. To get there you have to suffer through Hitchens' typical, "they're all the same" business about Pubbies and Dems and assorted cynicisms, but the tale is worth the long read. How quickly we all forget.
It's also a nice reminder of how dangerous is the Hildebeast.
