"There are plenty of minors watching TV that aren't mature enough to turn off the TV. But I'll compromise. We'll allow parents to sue producers who expose their kids to filth and porn. I think that will work."
The show was on after midnight. Seriously, if you are letting your kids watch TV unsupervised after midnight, YOU have the problem.

I see Garrison as a popularist, he's into whichever way the wind is blowing. Guns are popular so he's got them, attacking Canada was popular so he was for it. He also like to shock people, shocking people is his ego boost. Garrison is the character least likely to believe what he says. In the end he's just an insecure twerp.

Manners is hardly learned anymore, let alone being taught. There is a time for manners, and there are times when its not needed. Dining with the queen of England requires manners. A political satire comedy show is not a time for manners. Lighten up.

I disagree with Old Professer's view of SP but you clearly are not familiar with his screename and habit of keeping track of spelling errors.Yesterday I couldn't even spell 'student'. Today I are one.

Well, Garrison is certainly a fadist but that's part of his homosexual side.
But he is not always imitating everyone else. If you recall the entire episode "South Park is Gay" was about he and Mr. Slave didn't like the fact that all the men had become Howard Dean style "metrosexuals" (I hate that word, it doesn't even make sense) and were copying all of the very things that Garrison and his fellow queers do to differentiate themselves.

Why are 'curse words' 'foul.' Why is 'ass' any more foul than say butt or fanny? Why is f*ck any more foul than the words sex or intercourse? Why is crap any worse than dung or poop?

http://www.capalert.com/capreports/southpark.htm I'm surprised this hasn't come up yet, my favorite film review of all time.
I'm suprised they didn't quote it on the DVD packaging. >:)

But his primary complaint is that it was an inconvenience to him, he no longer could tell who the gay men were so he could hit on them. Garrison is an "if it feels good do it" liberal.

When I read it described like that, it makes me laugh all over again

I would imagine the words' meanings also have to do with their origins. Most likely the vulgar words were the words used by the poor and ill-mannered. Of course, nowadays, people place different stresses on it than previously. Some are even more offended by it and others think it's "cool."
In reality, it's neither.

Rosie took quite a hit. So did Sallie Struthers. John Edwards was "a douche". Pat Robertson was parodied hillariously. The Mormon religion was castigated a couple of weeks ago (although vindicated in the end). I'd say they're equal opportunity offenders.

I saw that episode!!!
My favorite part was when Reiner screamed "butter!" "butter!"
they had to butter him up to get him out of the limo!

It's only offensive if you choose to let it irritate you. Like I said earlier, my old church thought the words butt and fart were extremely bad words. 'Curse words' are nothing more than man-made 'wrongs.'

he no longer could tell who the gay men were so he could hit on them.No it wasn't. He was upset that normal men were copying the male homosexual lifestyle in the same way that whites are always cribbing expressions from blacks. Thus, these two groups' attempts to differentiate themselves were failing.
I've got to get back to my flibbety flobbity floo now.

Actually that's
precisely why Garrison was upset. The "metrosexuals" were wearing items that had specific code meanings to actual gays......LOL.
