OK, back to work today for most of us. I hope everyone had a happy Thanksgiving holiday, ate lots of turkey (giving a little to the cats on the side), and finished all your holiday shopping.
I hear a new Bond movie is coming out with the familiar "world domination" theme. One significant difference: the evil-doers are not Russian, Chinese, or some scientist gone-mad. It is our beloved friend, the cat.
Some of you have seen this e-mail but since it hasnt been posted in over a year, think it is time for a refresher.
TOP SIXTEEN SIGNS YOUR CAT MAY BE PLOTTING WORLD DOMINATION
16. Sits on your newspaper in the morning and carefully reads the coded message that Garfield sends out every day
15. Used to sleep on top of TV, now monitors CNN 24 hours a day
14. Notably absent from home during surprise feline invasion of Poland
13. When you enter room, Snowball and other members of the Tri-Cateral Commission stop talking and begin playing with yarn
12. Behind the couch you find a forged passport, plane tickets and nine suicide bombs
11. What you thought was "heat"; is actually a four-legged goose step
10. Well "somebody" subscribed to alt.cats.world.domination
9. Autopsy of the last mouse left on your doormat reveals "tattoo" to be blueprint of the UN building
8. Constantly petting that bald man he keeps on his lap
7. Kitty Chow spilled on the floow spells out "Drop the car keys and leave the door open or the dog gets it in the head"
6. Then -- dead mice in the kitchen. Now -- dead third world dictators in the basement
5. Judging from the kitchen, he seems to be working on some kind of "land mine" technology
4. Fluffy is now sleeping only 21 hours a day, down from 23
3. Has recently been acting somewhat...aloof
2. What your cat lacks in charisma and good looks, he makes up for with his ruthless handling of rival software companies
1. Somehow, you're now subscribed to "Felines of Fortune" magazine
We slipped into this secret meeting

I thought we slipped in/out without being spotted, but suddenly not so certain

This is their ring-leader, looks like the evil cousin to the white Viking Kitty

We sent special agent to thwart plot; until his/her successful return

I will not be posting again until tomorrow. Have a little trip of my own planned today. I hope THIS doesnt happen to me

Your pictures of the cat in the catnip reminds me of a couple of pictures I ran across this weekend. I used to have a nice herb garden and grew some catnip. I have one picture of my Bubba just rolling around, high as a kite. I had totally forgotten that until I found that picture.

I don't think he has any Siamese. His temperament is way to docile for that. He is definitely deaf, and I have found after looking into it, that white cats with blue eyes seem to be more prone to deafness, but it is not uncommon in other colored cats. I can tell you that in spite of his deafness, he is the sweetest cat I have ever had.

I have also noted that younger cats will have more pronounced stripes - but they kind of mute as the puss gets older. This one his stripes have been becoming more pronounced. He is about 8 months old now. He is turning into quite the stately animal.

What a coincidence. The kitty we got last month at Lowes finally got a name this week. Would you believe it - "H.K. Troublemaker", but I still call her "Little Bit".
To: YankeeinOkieville
LOL! Actually, I'm hoping to come up with a better name for him. I really hope that Trouble doesn't stick!

All this talk of catnip reminds me - Beanie attacked my seed box today and ate open a hole in the catnip envelope - and THAT reminded me I have some growing outside and don't need the seeds. So if NE1 wants some catnip seeds to grow (now or later) or plants (spring) FReepmail me.

Trouble is adorable! And "Trouble" is a very appropriate name for a little orange fellow. You've got to watch those orange ones...they're extra full of mischief.
"Trouble" is one of the nicknames I frequently call my orange Finbar-kitty.

I'm merely curious and going by odds and old wives' tales. And I'm very interested in animal behavior and animals in general. For example, just like the blue-eyed deaf white cat, odds favor a black cat having some Siamese.
I can tell you for certain that one of my cats (all strays) is a gorgeous chocolate point Siamese and has always been a sweet girl. I've had countless cats over 50 years, all kinds, and this is the first to develop a fan club. People say they come to visit us, but spend most of their time lying on the floor making funny sounds at Sam-don't-call-me-Samantha.

Do you have a photo that shows his stripes? Here is a photo that I was able to enhance his stripes so you can see them better.
It is tough to describe black on black stripes... But, they are there.

Orange tabbies, I've been told, are the smartest. I can believe that. Very little gets past this guy, for example. He's so smart, it's sometimes scary.
He's very sweet and affectionate, though and has a loud purr-box.

Wow, that makes him even more beautiful! Tell me, are those large, wide-set ears or is he just curious at something? And it looks like he has small paws, is that right?

He is a beauty. My little guy seems to be pretty stupid so far though.... DC is smart.

He's handsome. Around here, cats with loud purr-motors get the middle name Motorola.

Just clicked your link for "Trouble". Lots of good future kitty humor material. Do keep your eye on DC for awhile.

I expect lots of good pics of both Trouble and DC. I don't think DC would hurt a fly intentionally, but since he can't hear, he doesn't stop playing sometimes when he should. He is front declawed, so the kitten has some advantage.

If DC isn't part Siamese I'm real pet food. Does he talk yet?
