In order that we might all raise the level of discourse and expand our language abilities, here is the daily post of “word for the day”. Rules: Everyone must leave a post using the “word of the day”; in a sentence. The sentence must, in some way, relate to the news of the day. Practice makes perfect.....post on....

osculate \ohs*cue*late\, verb:
osculated, osculates, osculating; transitive, intransitive verb
osculation; noun
deosculate, deosculation; (fondly)
exosculate, exosculation; (vigorously)

1. To kiss..
2. Mathematics: To have three or more points coincident with.
3. To come together; contact.

A Plain Old Kiss
Some people need a peck or two;
For others a simple smooch will do;
Too many, a graze will stimulate;
A few may want to osculate.
And then, there are those who need a smack,
For flowery words they have a knack.
But all I want from you is bliss,
Which you can give me with a plain, old kiss!
- Arr. Ara John Movsesian

Etymology [Latin scul r , scul t-, from sculum, kiss, diminutive of s, mouth. See s- in Indo-European Roots.]

The only reason I hope the convention doesn't move to the boats is that it *will* hurt all these businesses even more. They don't deserve that. :( Then again, I didn't vote for this a-hole anyway...

I'm looking forward to 50. I am even thinking about a party. I haven't had a party since I was 8 or so.

I think in his early 40's, he had Leukemia for 16 years, kept it a secret for about 10. Great stuff, the tribute album is great too.

The Goodman version includes Divorce and some other subjects in the wrote another verse part. I seem to have lost his LP's in one of my many divorces.

Turkey is unheard of in SE Asia, it just don't exist! Better to have a plate of chicken vindaloo, murgh, lentils, samosas, naan bread, tamarind sauce and bryiani rice..mmmm...

Actually, that sounds very much like what we're having tomorrow evening -- lamb vindaloo, chicken tandoori...

Fifty didn't bother me-I got out some old pictures of myself at 40, and saw that I was 12 pounds heavier then, and had my hair bleached a frightening shade of beige blonde (my ex never liked red hair, even though mine is natural). My hairstyle sucked-it made me look like a dyke, and I was dressed to please my ex-husband, rather than wearing what pleased (and looked good) on me. I was (and am) happy to be many years away from that incarnation of myself.

I agree with you that it would further hurt the businesses that have already been hurt and they don't deserve it.

But bloominidiot, pataki and the rest of the NY rinos need to be taught a lesson.

There has got to be some kind of a compromise that would help the businesses, yet still slap the smirks off the smug faces.
