Woman Says She Was Raped In 'Real World' House
Victim Blacks Out After Being Given Drink
SAN DIEGO -- San Diego Police said Tuesday they are investigating a 22-year-old woman's allegations that she was raped in the oceanfront home where MTV is filming the latest season of its Real World reality program.
The woman, who is not a cast member of the television show, said she believes she was assaulted between Nov. 14 and Nov. 15 at the home, which serves as the production area and living quarters for the cast and crew.
The woman told investigators she went to a downtown nightclub on Nov. 14, where she met a man who was an acquaintance of one of the The Real World San Diego cast members. The woman told police she consumed a drink offered by the man and then blacked out.
She said that when she awoke the next morning at 10:30 a.m., she was fully clothed and on a bed in the guest room of the The Real World house, being filmed by a camera crew.
The woman had some pain in her genital area and believed that someone had sex with her while she was unconscious, according to court documents.
A person whose name was not released told a female cast member that the man who gave the drink to the alleged victim had left the home saying, "I just hit that."
The unidentified person found the woman lying naked on the bathroom floor. The person dressed her and moved her to a living room couch. The female cast member returned to the home the morning of Nov. 15 and saw the woman on the couch. The cast member and the unidentified person then moved her to the guest bedroom.
The cast member woke the woman and told her she may have been sexually assaulted in the bathroom the night before, according to court documents. The cast member then arranged for the woman to get home.
The woman reported the alleged rape to police on Nov. 16. A medical examination performed the same day revealed lacerations in her genital area.
Thirty cameras are mounted throughout the house, recording images from every area except the home's two bathrooms. The cameras are monitored 24 hours a day, according to an MTV producer.
Police served a search warrant on the house on Nov. 18, seizing bedding, towels, couch cushions, video tape equipment, taped footage and computer equipment to be processed for evidence.
Police had not made any arrests in the case Tuesday. No The Real World cast or crew members were suspected in the alleged assault. Police would not comment on the suspect named by the alleged victim.
Officials interviewed potential witnesses Tuesday, after some cast members who were in the house at the time of the alleged assault returned from a trip to Mexico.
MTV's The Real World documents the lives of seven strangers living together. Thirteen seasons of the series have already aired, including the most recent, The Real World Paris.
MTV hired the outside production company Bunim-Murray Productions to produce all of its The Real World shows. The network and the production company said they were cooperating fully with San Diego Police.
The producers released the following statement Tuesday: "The producers of The Real World and the cast are cooperating fully with local authorities investigating an incident that may have occurred at The Real World house. None of the cast or crew members had any involvement in this incident."
Real World San Diegois still in production, according to MTV, and is scheduled to premiere in January.

If you have to drug a woman to get laid you're not a man. You're lower than the streaks in Michael Moore's drawers.
Sounds like a little knifing action is going on here among the cast members. I used to be a huge fan of the Real World and there were always backstabbing and plots against one another.
You gotta be wary with these cases they could go either way. Just the other day a woman falsely accused a Lions' player of rape.
Why is Rohypnol called the "date rape drug"?
Rohypnol has been associated with date rape, and has also been called the "Forget Pill," "Trip-and-Fall," and "Mind-Erasers." In combination with alcohol, it can induce a blackout with memory loss and a decrease in resistance. Girls and women around the country have reported being raped after being involuntarily sedated with Rohypnol, which was often slipped into their drink by an attacker. The drug has no taste or odor so the victims don't realize what is happening. About ten minutes after ingesting the drug, the woman may feel dizzy and disoriented, simultaneously too hot and too cold, or nauseated. She may experience difficulty speaking and moving, and then pass out. Such victims have no memories of what happened while under the drug's influence.
Unless she was drinking grain moonshine, nobody blacks out after drinking one drink.
