Umm.. my best friend set me up on a blind date with an unknown third party.
She never bothered to tell me that she was setting me up with her mom.
When I finally found THAT out was a little after the third or so date.
I gots stoopid and got married.
That's the short form ofhow I got involved with this family.

LOL!
My best friend loved busting on me.
But she was pretty serious about setting me up with her mom.
Her excuse for that,"Well, mom likes you and you're handy to have around for your sense of humor."
*snort*
Translated: She wanted to have me around to scare off people for fun and profit.

Well, one of her boyfriends got a little too 'frisky' and she decided to sic me on him.
I don't think I've seen anyone run through a closed screen door before.
I did learn in short order NOT to play cardgames of ANY kind against the best friend.
She'd get this slight smirk, and then I'd lose.
I'd yell for the missus and say that 'rotten kid is viciously beating me at card games again!' and she'd simply say that I should learn not to play cardgames against said 'rotten kid person.'
Guess she 'chose' me as her stepfather because I wasn't scum like the previous guys her mom dated.
Hearing some of what her mom's previous boyfriends tried/did, I wouldn't doubt that interpretation.

Step-daughter wasn't.(The ONLY one out of that family who actually acted human and had asense of humor.)
She actually liked having me as step-father.(Said so, repeatedly and often. Often with a "Thank God you're not like *her mom's last boyfriend's name here*")
The missus on the other hand, not sure what her game is.
The step-daughter died in a car accident three years ago, and the missus blamed me. (Somehow everything is my fault in her mind. She kissed some other guy in front of me supposedly because of me.)
Not sure why she blames me, but the consequences of her decision are still raining down around her head, and she doesn't want to face the results of her actions.
Recently she told me that she was going to leave me.
I said, "Okay."
She looked stunned and asked why it was merely okay.
I exlpained that she's been 'going to leave' for the entire 7 years we've been married.
I also explained that I knew of her affairs (plural) and that the brakes on her one boyfriend's car failing wasn't all THAT much of a coincidence.
(I do not appreciate being punched in the face and threatened with a gun.)
She's now preteneding to be merry housewife and insists that she's never been unfaithful.
I'm somewhat amused by this in a sick twisted Machiavellian sort of way.
Only in her family is behavior like hers condoned and excused.
Sane people would have split by now.
But, I never claimed to be sane and I unfortunately do love this woman even though she seems to think that her behavior is not only hidden still but excusable and justified.
I can't wait until some other random event happens to bring things to light again.

I'm sorry about your step-daughter. But I think it was unfair of her mother to blame you for it!
I envy your endurance, I think I would've been outta there in a New York minute!

It's been 3 years.
I've had that long to begin to deal with her death.
Her mom blaming me for her death was, is, and remains unfair.
Endurance?
Most likely insanity on my part.
Oddly, she says she's leaving, and I tell her that all I wanted was someone to love me and want me body mind and soul, so I look forward to her leaving so that someone else can take a whack at destroying me.
After hearing that, she suddenly decides that she isn't leaving after all.
I dunno.
I do not understand the female mind in general, and her mind in particular in specificity.

Just remember this, she is not representative of all women, your stepdaughter and the freeperettes show that.
But I think you deserve better that her, the next time she says she's leaving offer to pack her bags for her.

I am in shorts and barefooted and have the doors and windows open. Me, too.
But there's a strong wind blowing and the temp is dropping fast.

I invite you both to come to Maryland right now since you are bored with your balmy weather, LOL!

Already did that once.
She insisted among her friends and family that I was the bad guy.
She learned well about how to cry wolf and pretend to be a victim.
Oh well.
She'll slip up eventually.
Like with the pictures of her with another man while married to me.
Now if only I could get the person who took them to hand them over.
But I doubt she wants to speak to me at all.
Seems this certain person is both scared of me and insists that I'm Satan.
