Ah yes.
Dial up.
Had dial up until late '02 or something like that.
Posted every other day ro so until then.
And that was if the weather was cool enough for my machine at the time to work.
If it got to 80 degrees or so outside, my machine would lock up on me.

I can dream, can't I?
And in dreams, cannot a man fly?
And as a fly, cannot the man also be the mouse?

Dang. I broke through 17,000 replies today in less than 1 year. I've only done 8 posts but they were all original works.
Woooooo dang hooooooo!

I cleared a whopping $12.56... Glad you can count. I see it's a very important skill.
I was only testing you......

In that case, you'll fit right in with the rest of us.....
However, we're not letting you go the the sections of the casino that bet on sports.
What are friends for?

My God with the number of times you wipe out and fall off your board I'd recommend you don the wet suit.!! LOL This is a large misconception.
The truth of the matter is when you fall a lot, it's usually cause you're taking chances and learning new skills.
I don't (fall often) cause I'm too old to suffer the consequences.....
Truth.................it hurts more than the falls!

the sections of the casino that bet on sportsMemory fades but I recall many years ago driving to Tahoe from Sacramento and placing a bet on my beloved Falcons. They won in what I believe remains their largest margin of victory ever, something like 62-0 over the Saints. Feeling invincible and calculating how rich I would become by letting the $100 and subsequent winnings multiply over what was then a 12 or 14 game season, I let it ride ...
my winning streak stopped at one.

I had a similar streak of luck with some nickel slots at Vegas.
I'm not an anti-gambler, just never considered it a thing to do.......you know.....having fun while losing a couple of grand. I have know people that have lost a lot, including a guy who lost his business in the 70's to a gambling addiction.
$250,000 in one night! ARRRRGHH! Scarey stuff.
that being said....I don't have any anti-gambling feelings.....so to continue the story, a friend of mine is trying to get me to play the slots a few years back. I'm not interested, so he comes over and hands me a roll of nickels, and we start to play the nickel slots. An hour later, I'm on a roll....$20 worth of nickels in this little bucket.
Whoopee-do, lady luck is smiling one me, right?
We go trade them in for quarters.
Ten minutes.
We went outside and watched the volcanoe blow, realizing they had just made another mil from the combined suckers......
The real story behind the volcanoe at the Mirage......a mil lost, then it blows....

There's a formula for it somewhere.....
Mass times volume plus area.
Connecticut is close enough! Besides, with Lieberman, it has gravitas!
