Hey Sharky - MERRY CHRISTMAS!! And don't be over indulging in those spirits!! Thank you and back atcha!
We had a good one, but things didn't turn out like they were planned.
The night before Chistmas eve, Linda's Mom decided she didn't like this group of trees on the side of a back road and tried to take them out with her car.......needless to say, the trees won. She was brought to the ER and was there (with us)for 6 hours getting tests, wrapped up on one of those hard boards with a neck brace. Luckily she has no apparent signs of serious injury, but she has been wracked with pain (she's 85) and mostly lying in bed......of course in our home.
She is getting better now, and can wander around again and will probably go back to her own place next week.
Our Christmas was dampened a bit, Linda is pretty exhausted from trying to hold things together in a normal Christmas time, plus full time care for her Mom.
As far as overindulging, Linda probably needs Tequila shots on a daily basis till New Years Eve.....lol......maybe blue thingies would do.
You can tell David and your son that the Wings are starting to get their act back together from all those injuries. They will once again be formidable as the season heads toward the second half. Last night, our son Phil (who is in the middle of basic training) and myself went down to the Arena last night and watched a great game between them and Minnesoooota......went into overtime, ended up tied.....very exciting and fun for Father and Son. They have the most expensive beers in the work there, btw, so overindulging would have caused bankruptcy!
We still hope to go skiing, but that may be delayed because of Linda's Mom.
Hope all is well for you.

I am certain that you would feel insulted by any offer of points You are most certainly wrong, sir. If this game was to be played in Ann Arbor, I would give you your ten points........as a true Northern gent would do for a team ripe for slaughter.....
However, certainly a true Southern gent would not ask for such a thing when his team is favored by 8, is ranked #1, and has a home game........But then, maybe I had delusional thoughts concerning the character of a certain Southern gent.
Tired of losing $$$$$, right????

Westy do you know this city? The river is the Ohio and the stadium used to be called Riverfront.

So your loyalty to the vaunted Wolverines is to be tossed aside over a few lousy points? We'll split the difference. I'll take USC -- even.
Yes I am tired of losing

The local newspaper had the article about that on the 25th.
The singer is from Goshen, just around the corner from my area pretty much.

That was surreal the old saying Life imitates Art or Art imitates Life!
I think for many the line is blured!
Could be the shooter brain is fried from a lifetime of drugs!

Don't know.
But the guy who got shot was being unnecessarily nasty to the singer, he was pretty much stewed and thought he was being clever, and then got into it with the guy who thought he was being a hero.
(The shooter claimed to a local paper that he was defending himself from the victim's insults.)
There's GOT to be alot more to it than we know, and the singer retreated to a quieter place to get away from the press, but they ghoulishly tracked her down in Goshen to bother her about what she saw.
*snort*
And the local newsies wonder why I hate them.

I caught a little on Cspan about a reporter or editor who worked for the NY Time from 1944-1989.
He said today all the stuff that is being reported on wantabes and nobody would have never gotten into the paper.
I am not talking about a killing like this which is news, but I also think they would not intrude on a person who is not responsible for anothers action.
I can not watch TLC or any like them for history is distorted to fit the agenda of the day!
I have a hard time watching movies today for many tamper with my core values!
