I never used anything specifically for printer ink, but there are workable fixatives that were great for what I was doing. They worked well on charcoal and pastel drawings as well. There's also a matte spray that works pretty well. I have used it and Krylon clear enamel spray as sealers on finished hand-colored photos with good results. The key is shaking it well and making sure you hit it with a fine, even mist. You don't want to get a stray droplet on it. That makes a spot that won't clean up. I guess I never realized that the printer inks were so soluble. Good information to have if I start doing some photo printing at home.

Thanks. After Christmas, I am going to do extensive research into these fixatives. You see...I did not save them, but just printed them out...for five years now.
I am such a dolt!

Well, I sneezed on it and the colors ran. Gee, I had never thought that moisture would run a pic. What kind of paper do you use for print outs? Ink just sits on the surface of photo papers, because they are resin coated.
I use regular card stock from the office supply. It is the same paper as a 3x5 card, but in 8.5x11 letter size. It isn't archival, but neither are the inks, but at least the ink can soak in, and it is very cheap, like $8.00 for 250 sheets.

I think that I"ll save mine on CD's, even tho they say those won't last forever either.. I don't know if I want to mess with those sprays. I've used them on art-work.. and I've never seen one that sprayed even without a good blob now and then..
I guess if stuff is that important you should use archival ink or at least store them in archival covers or archival glass in your frames.. Hey, none of mine are that good.. When I'm gone.. they'll soon be gone.. Ciao.... Ho-done...Sayanara....Cootchy, cootchy...

So are the papers the same thickness as a 3x5 card? This sounds like what I need. Thanks
To: grannie9
Interesting.

But they must be so dull, with no life to them.. I used to use the card stock for cards, but you can't compare it with a good glossy photo paper..

I use Krylon workable fixative for my sketches.
I don't have to worry so much about droplets when spraying a sketch.
One reason why I haven't tried my hand at prints yet.
Not sure what success I'd have.

OOps.
Get something on and go see the movie.
Some others I've bothered have seen it already, they say it's a must see for the Tolkien fan.

The startling parts were not so startling the second time just because you know what's coming, but I cried more the second time. This is definitely the most emotional of the 3, all the way around.
