If the ink doesn't bleed it will spot and you will see the spots forever..

So, what about this fixation spray? I have hundreds of pics on photograhic paper that I did not know were vunerable to damage. Do you have a link for information?
To: Conservababe
Fixative spray keeps it from smudging due to skin wetness, but it too will eventually succumb.
It's basically spray on acrylic.
I use Krylon fixative spray.
The problem with the photographic paper isn't so much the paper itself but the ink being water soluble.
I haven't found good info on prints yet and keeping the ink from running, but the links I sent you have good stuff to look at.
They used to have a way to ask about stuff, haven't been to that site in along time myself, but it shouldn't hurt to wander it and look.
I'm far from expert at photo papers and such, I only know what I've personally experienced, my knowledge of fixative spray runs towards using it on my sketches.
Reading from teh can I have, it says it's good for:pencil, charcoal, chalk, pastels, Conte crayon, watercolor, India Ink, crayon, and Color Laser Prints.
It says it's water resistant.
To use it on prints, one would have to be very careful with the spraying to prevent soaking the surface of the print and making it run with the fixative spray.
A pencil sketch is a little more forgiving in that respect, you can soak it to death and not worry about smearing.
I haven't played with making prints of anything I've drawn for the running ink reason.
Been trying to get straight info better than what I already have before I give it a shot.

Thanks for the info. But, as Scarlett said...Ah'm just going to have to think about this tomorrow...LOL
I have just wrestled around and wrapped a sleeping bag, not boxed, mind you. It looks so sloppy, I hid it behind the tree. Now I am eyeing another monster to wrap. LOL

Don't worry about it Babe.. unless you're using archival ink they will all fade in a few years anyway... Keep the originals on a CD and make some more later when the others fade.. ;)
I don't think there is any fixative for photos.. If there is, it must be fairly new.. cause I haven't seen it.

OKers.
It's something that's more 'experiment with it and see what goes best' than a 'do this' thing.
Kinda like watercolor pencils.
*hmmm..*

Yes and no.
There's UV resistant fixative spray, but I have no experience with it, and no-one's been using it for 5 years to see if the ink stays true.

OOps, good luck with the wrapping.
Got my shopping done, and I don't have to wrap it.
I just have to be sneaky and 'ninja' it into the room and lay it out carefully before bedtime.
And then pray to God I don't get a strangling hug in return.

Actually, there is a fixative for photos. Dang....can't remember the name of it right now. I used to buy it in the art section of Hobby Lobby to use on photos I was hand coloriing.

Yes, they certainly do. This look says, "just wait till she's tries to go to sleep tonight."

Yes, that is a 'just wait until you're not lookin' look.
*chuckle*
I've gotten that look from my wee beasty a few times.
Usually right before she lodges her 24 pound self securely upon my chest.
