Praying for the Capture of Saddam Hussein

Almighty God, we are taught throughout Your Bible that You are a God of Justice. It is because of this that we pray this simple prayer. We believe that Saddam Hussein is a past murderer and that he is still involved in murder. We pray that out of Your Divine Justice that You would enable him quickly to be captured and brought to the Justice that You decree.

We pray for your Divine intervention, Lord. Strip Saddam of his hiding places and of his support.

We pray this in the name of eternal Justice, in the name of Jesus.

Repeating this prayer from early in the thread because it especially touched my heart:

Lord God, You are the God who establishes nations, who determines their times and their locations. And, as you held Ninevah accountable for its sin, so you hold our nation accountable for its sin. We confess that we have turned from You and followed after the ideas of philosophy and the behavior of the hedonists. We confess that we have been complicit in the death of our young unborn. We confess that we have focused on the rule of man rather than the rule of freedom and law. We beg your forgiveness. We pray that You bless us once more. We pray for showers of blessings and for the hearts of our people to be returned to You. We pray that we would proudly be known as "that nation that follows God."

Bless those in our military who comprise a Gideon's army, a force of warriors who will acknowledge You in their daily lives. Lead them to victory in the capture of Saddam Hussein. Enable them to be Your agents in bringing to justice the murderer of hundreds of thousands. We pray for his very soon capture.

Lord God, there is no one who can stand before Your anger. And it is clear that Your anger is kindled when Your depart from Your ways and follow the enticements of this world.

Do not be angry with us for too long, Lord God, for we are dust and cannot endure without Your touch in our lives. Instead, Lord, as the psalmist asks, "Will You not revive us again that we may rejoice in You?"

Show us Your unfailing love; Grant us Your salvation. Keep us on the paths of righteousness for Your Name's sake.

Your children are praying for You to stand and glorify Your Name by the soon capture of the murderer, Saddam Hussein. Let the world notice that when Your warriors pray, that You also quickly act on their behalf.

Almighty Father, Your Word will stand for eternity. Assist us, we pray, as we attempt to uphold Your Word.

You tell us that a "tyrannical ruler lacks judgment" and that one guilty of murder "will be a fugitive until death."

The life of Saddam Hussein is under Your Justice. We pray, however, that he be soon captured so that his murders will cease and that his past murders will will come to account. These things we pray are in line with Your will as expressed in Your Word.
