We need a 'terror watch' thread.
This is bad. Or maybe not. It could be two or three people at an internet cafe in Damascus, causing panic.
But I don't think it is. I just have a bad feeling.
This has all gotten surreal, the first few years of this Millenium. I mean- the disputed election, 9-11, the Gay King? Hell.
I was explaining this to my girlfriend yesterday (the Mahdi thing) and I just stopped in the middle and said,
"I feel like I'm Wesley on Angel."
I mean, really. We're fighting an enemy which might be about to launch devastating attacks because of a prophecy! What on earth is going on.
This is what happens when you let people like this have access to advanced weapons without the culture to understand them.
The Moslems are children on the stage of the world. Children with bombs.

That's the translation, though.

This is also what happens when you give the internet to the world. The world becomes prepared.
I, too, have a "funny" feeling. I hope it's self induced from reading this thread.

Although I think it's highly probable that this guy on Yahoo! is pulling a "quidam", I've heard at least five EBS practice runs on the radio in the past week, and I live in suburban NYC - (tinfoil covered) food for thought...

I see.

I don't know. "The water, the water, the water" sounds a lot like someone trying to emulate, "Tora, Tora, Tora."
But then, maybe it is one of them, doing just that.
As for the wide scale of these messages, maybe the planned attack is too big.
In any case, why not broadcast in the open? There's not much that the US Government can do based upon them, other than shut down the country- and it obviously can't do that.
Watch the coasts. The one I've been afraid of for a long time is someone with a tanker full of natural gas moving into New York Harbor and lighting it off.

I saw my first EBS test on cable here in Houston three days ago. I've never seen it on all cable channels before. Anyone else?

IMHO, Homeland Security might get better ino here than many other places. I hope they get enough soon enough.

Yes, we discussed that on another thread. We're getting a lot of reports of unusual EBS activity. I observed two tests in one day, and a third since then. In mid-day. Very odd.
To: Terry Mross
I've seen several this week in the DC area....

I don' think a tanker filled with gas would make it past the Coast Guard. But there's no way all the crates can be checked for nukes. The question is how many, if any, do they have? I also have to think that if these messages are legitimate there has to be some misinformation as well to throw the authorities off track.
To: freeangel
The problem is as such:
We don't know a damned thing. Once they're inside, there's no real way of stopping them, other than luck.
This is why all suspected al-Qaeda members, supporters, and sympathizers need to be interned, those in captivity executed and why thier bases need to be blown off of the face of the earth.
We will win this war only when the Islamists are wiped out. There will be a victory only when we can bring ourselves to accept the mathematics of the situation.

Koran sura 36: Ya Sin
25 It was said, ▒Enter thou into Paradise!▓ Said he, ▒O, would that my people did but know!
36 Celebrated be the praises of Him who created all kinds, of what the earth brings forth, and of themselves, and what they know not of!
To: Terry Mross
I don't have as much confidence as the Coast Guard. It could be worked around, I think, exploited.

Anyone else?Of course, I haven't seen it outside the broadcast stations since I went to satellite, but before I moved (back in May), Comcrap Cable here in Atlanta (and AT&T before them, and MediaOne before them) used to run them on cable every Sunday morning like clockwork.

I think that our Russian friend might have it.

I worked in radio for many years and that system is set up so that each station is required to run a test every so often. We all hated running them. Now we see stations running two or three in a week. I also know that each station is set up to get an automatic signal when other stations run the test. I never was told how this "network" works.
