I joined Freerepublic in an attempt to converse with other conservatives. Lately it's been a struggle even to find a conservative post.
All I see are two kinds of people, the "blame Clinton(and/or) Democrats for everything bad that happens(ed),
and the Bushbots that put GWB up to a place equaling Christ.
Neither are true, and I'm a truthseeker first and foremost.
All I see now are threads full of propaganda, ..War is peace. Ignorance is strength. Freedom is slavery. Lies are truth. Patriotism is treason. Fascism is patriotism.
I see very few coherent posts, and almost none espousing true conservatism.
We have both houses and a President, yet the spending is out of control. We get rid of the death tax, but now my grandchildren will spend their life paying down the debt, if they aren't drafted to fight the next oppresive ruler in some desert of the Presidents next whim.
I could go on, but an opus is not what I intended. I wish everyone well, and will keep you in my prayers

Hey Texas,
Hate to see you leave...
I reckon you're always going to fine opinions that you're not going to agree with, but buddy stick with it. Perhaps you can influence others with your thoughts and ideas.
I hear down south they have a saying that when someone has a backbone they have craw in their grit.
Keep that craw in your grit my friend and stick with it. WE really do got some fine people on this web site. I've met so many that I would go to battle for, and that's saying something about the integrity and honor that I've seen demonstrated time and time again.
Hell buddy... your a Texan! You've got a damn fine heritage of boys who had craw in their grit.
Hang around and give those liberals something to think about!

No, no, no, no, nooooo!!!!!!! You got the wrong one, I know it has been played in France a lot but it is not very inspiring to the French, however, I am sure they don't mind kind of humming along a little bit.

Yeah, I was just taking another cheap shot at the French. But truly, are there any true cheap shots when it comes to the French?
The song you're thinking about is "La Marseillaise", I believe, the national anthem.

I can understand taking "cheap" shots at the French, anything more expensive would be wasted.

The one I am talking about was the one that ate the singing hippie and his girl friend. They had to put the bear down after that because it made him sick.

Yeah... I heard the singing hippie is going to be writing a new novel... Inside The Bear.
That ole boy didn't use the brain God gave him.
Any damn fool knows you don't horse around with these critters.
I sure as heck would have taken an RPG with me.

"Who's the composer?"I'm pretty sure his first name is Chauncy.
To: Northern Yankee
I'm sorry, you weren't clear on what you said. Is the new book going to be named, "Inside the Bear", or is it going to be written from inside the bear?

I judge the number of posts by doing a search of posts by member. Hopefully "somebody in the know" will see this and provide us with a better answer :).As I understand the system does keep statistics on each user for total number of replies and total number of new threads posted. I believe the info is visible to Admin types, but not to ordinary users.

I look at Condi Rice and I don't think 'black woman', I think 'competent person'.From Whitehouse.org (click for full size):

They're probably intended to be hostile to conservatives, and a few are deeply offensive, but most of their Wartime Morale Posters are damn funny all the same. (Whitehouse.COM used to pretty entertaining too, but now it's a porno rather than a parody site.)
